Once I started reading, I could not stop reading the book—I needed to find out what happened. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. I loved the characters of Mason, Ruby and Amber. Mason had so much anger built up and he wanted revenge against the person that murdered his wife and retribution for his wife that was taken from him. Mason and Amber were brought together by the tragedy in his past, and attraction turn to love. Mason has to overcome his own preconceptions of what he has done to be able to admit to a future.

How did Mason go down the dark road and who was the benefactor? How did Mason get his revenge on the murderer? There are several twists and turns within the story and suspense that makes it interesting. This was an enjoyable book with an interesting plot and dialogue, and it keeps you reading to the end to find out what happened—it will pique your interest. So to read and support these amazing authors and this wonderful cause is both a joy and an honor. Everyone of these stories were hot and had me falling for the characters and completely engrossed in the story line.

What I love about anthologies is the smorgasbord of new authors and favorite authors that I get to indulge in even though at the end of each story I am left I immensely enjoyed every page of this anthology, and the fact that it benefits the cause Rape Crisis is only icing on the cake. What I love about anthologies is the smorgasbord of new authors and favorite authors that I get to indulge in even though at the end of each story I am left longing and craving so much more from each fictional world.

So let's take a little journey into five of these ten breathtaking stories and let me fill your ear with sweet nothings about these authors and the characters who have become good friends of mine. Tessa quickly drew me in and had me falling hard and fast for this single widowed father that is wrapped up in broody darkness. I was enthralled by Mason's story, he had me on the edge of my seat in suspense and then all twisted up in those imaginary sheets panting right along with his conquests.

I will most definitely read more work by Tessa Valis and indulge in more of her steamy reads with a surprising that I didn't see coming. Become Corrupted by Julian Napier Having recently been gifted with a copy of Corrupted Hearts and then see the author's name on a story that begins the Corrupted series in this anthology, I just knew I had to begin His character Jessica quickly had me enamored with her spunky, horny, no filtered personality.

What begins as a disappointing night for Jessica becomes an entertaining night for the reader. He could score with me any day! Now I cannot wait to delve right into Corrupted Hearts and get to know more about the sweet, naive Louise. Julian intrigued with his characters and kept me hanging on a precipice and wanting for more corruption. Happily Forever After by Jade Whitfield Having already read and fallen in love with both the delicious Noah Travers and the sassy Liv Preston in Forever Love, I couldn't wait to embark on this journey and walk down the aisle with these two.

Jade gives readers a dose of her sense of humor with Noah's adorable and hilariously funny side kick Brady Cooper and his escapades during Noah and Liv's honeymoon. Now I have to move onto Forever Together so I can get even more time with Brady and watch his crazy love story with Cindy play out. Jade's writing gives us the perfect mixture of funny, sweet, with the promise of plenty of heat! Sand, Snow, and Secrets by Leaonna Lux Having never stepped into Leaonna's fictional series The Cove but hearing the most wonderful things about her story telling skills from other readers, I just had to read and experience some of her characters for myself.

She brings us to a charity event with her very lovable couple One and Leah Woods, then steams things up in dark corners and lets the drama fly between other couples as well.

Play It Again, Sam

Leaonna had my emotions volleying back and forth between couples faster than a ping pong ball. Let's not even mention the tears I shed over One's speech at the Rape Crisis Charity event and how he burrowed into my heart with his love for Lea. Now I find myself clamoring to go back to the beginning of the Cove series and geting to know this couple even more intimately.

I am a greedy, voracious reader. Karen pens laughter, steam, and earth shattering love in such a way, that you can't help but become addicted from the first word that you read and develop a need for more and more! All For You wasn't any different. She took my love for second chance, best friend romances and had me drooling over every word, spark of desire, and ounce of want that happened between Jake and Erika. I have never been so thirsty for more as I am for these two. I keep hoping, and wishing, and praying that this is not the last that we see of this fictional couple that no amount of years of absence could dampen their lust and love for one another.

Karen has left me with an unquenchable desire for another round or two with Erika and her one and only love Jake. I cannot express enough awe in these stories by very amazing authors and my enthusiasm about reading even more of their work. This anthology gives readers everything from the beginning of budding romances, the reunion of lost love, to new happy ever afters, and more visits with old characters.

I can't imagine a better group of authors or a better cause to support. I highly recommend The White Ribbon anthology for romance that will sweep you away and give you plenty of characters new and old to fall deeply in love with that will have your to be read list growing in leaps and bounds.

Posted by Amy Brantley at Thursday, April 25, Millionomoics: My Journey to Financial Freedom Author: This book is short and practical volume about living well and saving smartly.

Shiv Verma illustrates how to create a successful financial model based on simple and educated decisions. Millionomics is an easy to read book that can be finished in a single sitting. Readers of all ages, regardless of where they stand financially or what their goals are, will leave with a new perspective on how to save more money without sacrificing a high quality of life. Shiv teaches readers how to set practical goals and prepare for the unexpected events that throw life off course at times.

He takes you on a year-by-year journey and uses his own life and spending as a concrete example of how he became a millionaire by simply saving. This book proves that with planning and conscious spending, wealth is not an unattainable goal! There are no tricks or gimmicks, no magic, no shortcuts here—just an easy to follow concept and some inspiration. You will learn how to save wiser, spend more consciously, and invest smartly. Are you ready for a change? Finances are a passion of mine.

I have written about them regularly over the past 7 years of my career as a freelance writer. When I was given the opportunity to review Millionomics by Shiv Verma, I was immediately interested in the subject matter. I've read many financial books over the years and many rehash the same material over and over again. I was pleased to see that this book had something new to offer. Not only did I learn about whole life insurance, which is something I plan to invest in soon, but it was refreshing to see the viewpoint of someone raised in India.

As an American, I was raised with ideas that are somewhat different from those of Verma. Americans focus more on bigger and better, rather than what we actually need. This leads many of us to live our lives in debt, many times it's incredibly staggering debt that weighs us down both financially and emotionally. Reading this journey opened my eyes to new ways of thinking. While I may not be able to follow through with every bit of advice, something that stuck with me was the author's statement about how there's never a perfect time to start saving money and that I just need to go ahead and do it.

There will always be bills and no time will be just the right moment to make a change. I highly recommend Millionomics to anyone who wants to stop living in debt and reach for that goal of being a millionaire. He zigzags through a mysterious labyrinth of crime and the occult along his hazardous quest toward redemption and recovery. The Light is the mystical odyssey of a prodigal son whose spiritual journey tumbles like a rollercoaster through a wild mix of philosophical, psychological, and religious experiences amid the turbulent posts counterculture.

Posted by Amy Brantley at 4: The Legend of the Child Onus by D. Instead, she's one of the few remaining members of four Viking clans tasked by Odin to protect the world from evil beings that most people only assumed to be myths and legends. The Divine Tempest Excerpt. The city was built near the side of a white mountain almost level with the clouds at its peak. A cave-like tunnel wound through the mountain to the top and ended in a ledge that protruded tenaciously into the brutal winds. A woman was standing on the ledge, dressed from head to toe in the finest silvery silk.

Her pristine clothes shone like platinum in any kind of light. Even flecks of dirt from the stone floor of the cave could not stain the fine fabric. She was blessed with long platinum hair that complemented her clothes elegantly, and they fluttered together, streaming in the damp wind. Her face was angular and strikingly beautiful, with delicate cheekbones and a chiseled nose, flawed only by the sharp lines of anguish that clouded her countenance. She stared out into the distance as if watching a sight beyond reality, and it caused her face to tighten even further in pain.

The wind sent a warning with howling urgency, and she wiped her hair from her eyes to clear her vision. There was a wrongness in the air. The sixth sense in her mind knew what it was long before it was fully evident. A familiar thought wracked her heart with sharp pangs of unease, an ominous forbearance that preceded a vision. Before her, the clouds roiled and beat together in a heated battle that was moving inexorably closer. The great bellies of the clouds were ever fuller and darker, precursors of the rain to come.

They huddled together and then broke apart. They collided and clashed with one another to set forth their wet gift upon the land. From within the clouds, shapes began to appear, augurs of the future, given to the woman as preludes to events to come. The clouds moved and shifted, and an image appeared from the chaotic masses. It was a denser column, shaped roughly into the form of an oval.

At first it was no more than a stark sliver amongst its gray brethren, but as the storm moved closer it was beginning to become more prominent and showed itself fully as the storm formation covered the city. The sliver widened and became taller and larger than the cloud in which it had originated. It was pushing every competitor out of the way with a force that was immeasurable. From within that mass something new was stirred, moving and shifting outward, and as the oval widened, new shapes were birthed from the curves of cloud. A doorway formed, and from within it emerged unspeakable horrors.

Grasping claws and gnawing teeth reached toward the woman on the ledge, threatening to consume both her and the city nearby. Then, surpassing the hunger of the lesser creatures within the doorway, another more powerful presence began to emerge. At first it was just a feeling in the pit of the woman's chest, but slowly it became something far more terrifying. Her breath quickened even more, and she forced herself to remain standing under the pressure of its aura.

Huge, smoldering, sapphire-hued eyes appeared and resolved within the doorway of what must be their owner's cage. Great indigo claws grabbed the threshold and pried it even wider. Slowly it thrust its presence from within its prison into the open. As it did, its eyes glowed brighter and sparked with luminescent lightning, and a dangerous maw opened below them. Long, dagger-like teeth glinted harshly in the pale light of the storm, malicious things that threatened to tear at the fiber of her soul. Slowly that great fanged mouth opened wider and wider till it was larger than the city and the mountain.

Ready to descend upon the land, it encompassed the sky as far as the eye could see. Long, jagged lines of otherworldly cobalt lightning arced through its teeth and eyes and then struck the ground. The woman could feel that there was an undeniable simplicity to its wants and needs. It wanted only to take and consume, break and destroy everything. Then, as the great evil was about to fall on the land and take its very essence, the clouds broke into rain, and the vision dispersed.

Reports across the web that Amazon is working on a smartphone based on a custom Android platform and destined to compete head-to-head against the iPhone gathered strength on April Fool's Day when former Microsoft, now Amazon, executive Charlie Kindel Yes, that's really his name!

The mock press release claimed Kindel was in charge of developing a new home server for Amazon that would be called the Kindle Charlie. Foxconn makes the iPhone for Apple. Other tech sites claim that the new phonelet will be released in the second quarter of , so releasing between now and July 1. Business Insider claimed in March that delays in screen production will keep the phone from mass production until June. The rumors about an Amazon smartphone have been circulating since the summer of when Bloomberg reported that people in the know said Amazon was working on a smartphone. The story almost died after the release of Amazon's new slate of tablets including the Kindle Fire HD.

However, detailed reports speculating on everything from the release date to the idea that the phone might include Bezos' patented idea for airbags to protect the phone when it is dropped. Further speculation about the new Amazon smartphone is that it will be relatively inexpensive. Industry analysts expect Amazon to use the same marketing strategy for the phone as it has for its tablets.

That is, keep the cost of the product as low as possible, just covering costs, and make its money through apps and other products sold for the devices. The various reports indicate that initially Amazon had considered a more traditionally sized smartphone, but observed the increasing popularity of the larger screened phonelets and opted for the 4. Their reasoning is probably sound. At least two-thirds of smartphone buyers said that the size of the display was very important in their purchasing decisions. Whether Amazon is actually close to ready to launch a smartphone is unclear, but with this many rumors circulating, it seems likely that they are at least working on it.
