Mens Health: General Practice: The Integrative Approach Series

Having been awarded several scholarships she was privileged to be trained in Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander health in Alice Springs.

She grew up on a farm in Mornington and lives locally with her husband and two young sons. She loves good company, good music, good coffee and good food. She does yoga to relax and spends lots of time outdoors in nature. She has a broad range of interests including women and children's health, mental health, chronic pain, stress management, gut health, men's health and travel medicine. Heather brings with her a wealth of nursing experience over her 30 years of nursing and is currently enjoying the new opportunities and extensive education available for her new practice nurse role.

Her interests are in the whole wellbeing of patients and love the use of aromatherapy, nature, and the positive affirmations of life. She loves activities with her family by the beach and up in the near-by national parks, attending the gym for workouts and yoga, footy, squash and spending quality time with family and friends.

She has extensive experience in counselling and supporting both individuals and families. She has a special interest in anxiety and depression management, supporting women in early motherhood and giving people the tools, skills and strength to optimise their mental health. She brings a fresh and rigorous approach from London, UK. She trained initially in Cambridge University, UK, graduating in and then completed specialist GP training in a rural area of the West of England in , where she worked for three years before venturing to the city. She is an experienced GP in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and is very excited to have the scope to be able to work in a holistic way with patients.

She is passionate about preventative medicine and trying to find a natural way, where possible, to aim for wellness and wholeness. She also has an interest in mindfulness and meditation.

Dr Cooper is also a trained actress, which she does not see as very different to her work in general practice, as for her they are both about the exploration of the truth and joy of what it is to be human and to nurture creative being. Dr Michelle Woolhouse is a passionate GP with a special interest in using her post graduate knowledge of nutritional, environmental and mind-body medicine and applying this to general Practice. OUR INTEGRATIVE APPROACH TO TREATING CHRONIC ILLNESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

Exposure to organic methyl mercury most often comes from fish, with shark, swordfish and tuna being the most toxic. Mold exists everywhere; however, it colonizes indoors in places where it has a water source leak, humidity and food building materials, adhesives, cellulose.

Environmental Protection Agency or EPA defines a toxic chemical as any substance which may be harmful to the environment or hazardous to your health if inhaled, ingested or absorbed through the skin.

Examples of common toxic chemicals brought into a home include: Chemical off-gassing occurs when building materials and furnishings that are made with formaldehyde or treated with flame-retardant chemicals.
