Feb 26, Jennifer Kyle rated it it was amazing Shelves: The story was consuming, horrifying, exciting, and once War enters the story…perfectly imperfect and utterly captivating.

My only criticism if any is that this book does end with a cliffhanger. The next and final book is set to release on March 29th. The story starts with a heart pounding opening as our heroine, Baylee, a high school senior who is get this… is kidnapped in her own home and right in front her boyfriend by someone she actually knows!

Webster sure knows how to shock and grab a reader from the first pages. Baylee is taken by a family friend who has some very big plans for our heroine. Baylee may be a pawn but eventually I will take back what belongs to me. I swear that I will never eat another cucumber again! When the time comes to sell Baylee she is terrified that the odds on being bought by someone even worse than Gabe is a real possibility. I simply loved everything single thing about War. War is her owner, captor and…. But not all is as it seems. Secrets, lies, painful pasts, intrigue, violence, abuse, dark forces and obsessions mar their journey as lines are blurred and faceless enemies close in. Broken, lonely, naive, insecure, loyal, captivating and honest. Nine words to describe Baylee Winston, Bay: Abused, broken, scared, confused, fearful, reflective, wise, strong and spirited. This is War, Baby, told for multiple POVs is a fast paced dark tale with a mixture of mystery, suspense, violence, conspiracy and erotica as Baylee journeys to uncover the truth of why she was stolen and finding her way home.

Story ends abruptly leading right book 2, This is Love, Baby for the conclusion of her story! Depraved, sinister and complex plot! Raw, rough and angry sex! Budding romance, hope and possibilities! Would I re-read this series: Would I read future books by this author: Wowza…what an intriguing, consuming book! Oh my…this author surprised me in such a good way. And trust me it was! It was dark, twisted even d 5 Stars!! It was dark, twisted even disturbing at times, but it also was sweet and sexy.

You, doll, are a sacrifice. Your part is small, but it is so significant. Her kidnapper is a man she has known for years, a man she trusted and secretly lusted over. He wants her for himself, but he wants money more. He will train her for two weeks than he will sell her to the highest bidder. One day you will thank me. She is bought by a mysterious 28 years old man, War.

Her new captor is rich, gorgeous, but so tortured. The writing was captivating, the storyline exciting and all three main characters were complex and so well developed. This story was pure and simple refreshing and so addictive. The story has many twist and turns that for sure will keep you at the edge of your seat, but also some scenes that will offend you for sure, leave you disturbed and make you cringe.

All three characters were interesting, well developed and complex. Baylee was a great heroine. She is strong, smart, wise beyond her years and also thoughtful, caring and patient. He was portrayed in such a realistic way. I loved the fact he was so…different and I absolutely loved his POV. The way he feels for Baylee was sweeeeet, heartwarming and I totally loved them together.

Baylee really was the perfect match for War. The story ends with a huge cliffhanger. Overall, this was a very thrilling read, really well written and I highly recommend to anyone who loves dark and twisted tales. View all 94 comments. He puts her in a hole for days without food or water to "condition" her then proceeds to rape once with a cucumber and degrade her and she, of course, gets off on the sexual "conditioning".

So, I, being the helpful person that I am, will try to reason with the protags: How can someone as scintillating hot, as I, be wrong for buying a companion? Care to explain that? Heck, everybody knows that, where you been hiding? Cain't you see that Son? This 'ere ain't right".

Ima jes take this lil ole gal back to 'er Mom n Pop 'kay? I ain't fixing for no fight" Okay, lil lady les moosey on". Can't you see how hot and panty-dropping-delicious he is? He is so swoony and surely, someone so swoony can't be that bad? So, I will have to respectfully ask you to mind your own business and leave us alone to bask in our "Love". Feb 28, Candace rated it it was amazing Shelves: I kept seeing all the rave reviews for this book on my friends' pages, but I waited a while to finally read it.

Honestly, I'm I expected it to be over-hyped. Now that I've read it, I can confidently say that it wasn't all hype. I devoured this book! Kidnapped by her neighbor, seventeen year-old Baylee is forced to grow up quick. She's forced to endure things that nobody should have to.

Overnight, she goes from regular teenage girl to sex slave. When her captor, G Wow! When her captor, Gabe, puts her up for sale at an illegal auction, Baylee comes face to face with men more depraved than she could have ever imagined. The prospect of being sold to one of them terrifies her more than the thought of returning home with Gabe. Nonetheless, she is sold to the highest bidder. Baylee's new owner, War, is an absolutely incredible character. I loved every minute of this story told from his POV. The way his mind worked was amazing and so completely fucked up! The author really did a great job of letting the reader inside his head.

Despite all of the abnormalities in a his thought patterns, I felt a connection to him right away. Similarly, Baylee was a character that I connected with easily. Although I didn't understand how she could just "roll" with some of the things that took place, I appreciate that everyone handles things differently.

Until you're in that situation, you don't really know what you'd do. I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that the story almost feels like stories. This isn't due to lengthiness, but rather the fact that there are major "mood" shifts. The author breaks the book into Parts, which I think worked quite well in this case. The story begins sweetly, but quickly shifts into a very dark, erotic story. Then, the story takes on a sweet and heartwarming feel. Lastly, the book ends with a huge, suspenseful cliffhanger. Again, I don't want to say too much. Just know that this one blew my mind!

Yes, I guessed many of the things that happened. However, the story didn't go where I thought it would in the very beginning, so there were some surprises. The characters were fabulous and the writing was impeccable. I loved this story and jumped right into the next one. View all 65 comments.

Feb 27, Brandi rated it it was amazing Shelves: This is War, Baby started out with a bang. With that prologue alone, K. Webster snatched up my attention and did not let it go. Honestly, I could not put this one down. That is how long her training will last. This aspect of the story won't be for everyone - there are parts that are extremely difficult to read, and Baylee did seem a bit amenable, but it didn't bother me too much. I will never look at a cucumber again without shuddering again. Now, on to what made this story for me - WAR.

What a fanfuckintastic character. Complex, quirky, and unique. I loved this beautiful, broken man. When Baylee is sold, her owner is not what she was expecting. Meeting War, has Baylee's mind spinning - he is a strange one. War struggles to escape the confines of his mind, and he sees Baylee as chance to find some peace. These two were adorable to me, I loved them together. The showers, the towels, the counting, the chess games- so much awkward cuteness - they were perfect. Be warned, though, the ending Way to leave me hanging K Webster!

The cliffy is huge! But, lucky for me, the next book is set to release by the end of March. View all 56 comments. That is when I didn't hate a book but I didn't love it either. It was enjoyable but there were things about it I didn't care for. So bear with me please while I try to express my feelings on this book. I went into this read with really high expectations. The plot sounded so good.

Almost all my friends loved it. It's got tons of great reviews. So when I finished it and didn't flat out love it I felt left out! I wanted to love it like all my friends but sadly I didn't. I didn't get to warm up and connect to Baylee before she was kidnapped and the dark stuff started. I did slowly warm to Baylee though. I felt badly for all the things Gabe put Baylee through. I totally got her fear and confusion.

What I didn't get was her body enjoying her rape. I felt the whole "my traitorous body" thing going on with Baylee and Gabe just took away from the darkness of the rape. And it threw me out of the element. Gabe was raping a 17 year old. So I didn't want no "It's kinda okay and not all the way rape dubious consent cause I kinda liked it a little. Damn my stupid traitorous body!

Gabe was a great villain. OMG he was a twisted, depraved, sadist, disgusting pos. He oozed evil, and his crazy really came through the pages. Which is what you want in a dark romance. War was different for me. He had some major issues but he felt real. He was a good hero. I really love a damaged hero. War gave me that in spades. I really really liked War! He really gave this book depth! It didn't happen over night but it was a slow burn love.

the bargain audiobook romance

They start to heal each other and bring happiness to each other. I really didn't understand what was going on with Baylee's parents. I am dying to know why they didn't report their child missing. So many unanswered questions! I have to be honest and say that this book wasn't as dark and I thought it was going to be. However I want to take a second to give a warning this book has some triggers that may bother some readers.

OMG the cliffhanger ending had me flippin' out. How could the author end things like that. Of course now I will have to read the next book because no way can I leave things the way they are. This is War, Baby (War & Peace, #1) by K. Webster

She never really tries to kill his stupid ass or escape. Then Gabe takes her to the sale, he tells her not to worry-he just needs the money but he will come for her. She gets sold for five million dollars. She thinks after Gabe's tutoring that she is in for someone to beat, rape and kill her. This made no damn sense to me-pay five million dollars and then this She lucks out sorta, her buyer is War. Who has some major problems. I kind of saw War as a cross between these guys. I know that she chews every bite of food almost nearly the same amount each time.

I also know that she blinks twenty-four thousand four hundred eighty times a day. Seventeen blinks per minute. Of course, Baylee is the girl with the golden whoo-ha and War falls all in love with her. He is sending her parents who freaking never even reported her missing money to help out with her mom's surgery and illness. Gabe is probably still looking for her though so she must not leave the house or give any hints to them via email.

I'm not the best reader of the smexy books.. This was whacked out. The chick is seventeen and I recently read a book that had a seventeen year old sleeping with an old guy and the reviews were all pissed off about it.

It WILL break the rules. It WILL make you sick. And it WILL stress you out. But… There is also light. And it WILL be worth the journey. Pretty much throws you right into the dark, Baylee is chasing that elusive orgasm with her inexperienced boyfriend between her legs, when an intruder donning a ski mask enters her room.. She recognizes his voice, she's even fantasied about him.. I have fantasized about this guy, dreamed about him touching me. I have hungered for his eyes on my naked skin. Imagined his mouth on my breasts. He is a monster. The isn't the first time he's done this to unsuspecting female victims..

He's trained her to accept all things sexual, no hole is off limits, his training is brutal, unforgiving and painful to read.. Humiliation and violence go hand in hand.. I like the way she ignites something within me that hasn't shown life in some times. She brings blood rushing to parts of me that haven't been used in forever. After a series of incredible, but dark releases K. Webster has kicked the romance up a notch with Untimely You. Like always, I couldn't put it down, not because I was desperate to see more twists and turns, but because I'd fallen in love with these two dysfunctional characters and their love story. From page one you can't help but be hopeful for the klutzy Neesy, her spirit just makes you want the best for her.

Then there's Adrian, a handsome enigma that pulls Neesy into his orbit. He's hot and cold, but he's going through something you'd never wish on anyone and that made me have hope for him too. Together they don't make perfect sense, but their honesty, their willingness to lean on one another, and Neesy's never ending patience make them the perfect couple. Turning, I lock eyes with him. Such a beautiful, crushed soul. Untimely You is an unconventional love story, it's layered with character growth, passionate smut, angst-filled moments, and the sweetest of romances.

Ultimately, it's about forgiveness and giving yourself the time to let go and to move on. The subject, though sensitive, is dealt with in an excellent way and allows the reader to hope for an HEA even in the midst of emotional tension. I loved how far-reaching the plot was, K.

Webster makes even the minor characters hold significant moments. I felt immersed into the world and could see the story from so many perspectives. Untimely You read so similar to life, with its ups and downs, and I found myself devouring at any chance I could. I fuck all of the hate and grief and self-loathing out of my body and into hers. Her body begs for it. Sucks it all from me like it's deadly poinson for a venomous sting. There is so much to this book and while it may have some hard points for readers, it is worth it in the end.

You don't want to miss Neesy and Adrian and their heart-warming story. ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. I had a very hard time rating this book because the premise was great! A few things didn't work for me though This was quite a different book from this author and while I love her other work, this didn't win me over.

Neesy's life becomes extremely complicated when her boss assigns her with a very tricky job. Unexpected and tough, her new position will challenge her sanity and her heart. The last thing Adrian wants is to fall for his employee. Especially while battling with the horrors of his past. Neesy's vivacious and kind nature will clash with his difficult life.

Can they ever find happiness? Great storyline, but the erratic behavior of the male hero along with the heroine's response to him let me a bit down. The characters frustrated me and that made it difficult to connect with them. I would recommend it to the fans though. Jul 05, Katherine Bongo-bridge rated it it was amazing. She can write dark I mean real dark, with an added Cucumber , to Historical romance, Paranormal and then we have Untimely You.

I really had no idea what to expect with this new read, but OMG all the feels!! Our female lead is Neesy and I just fell in love with her from the word go. She's funny, clumsy, crazy, charming and caring all the C's. One particular scene at the start of the book in a restaurant I could identify with completely and the way Neesy deals with this is just perfect; I want a Neesy to come to my resuce when this happens to me on a regular basis. She also has the best line ever, it's a classic! I don't want to give the plot away as I really want people to read this heartwrenching but also beautiful book.

Our male lead is the Adrian and oh god sometimes I wanted to cuddle him so much, then other times slap his face lol and then share a hot tub with him bloody hell. I get so excited when a new K Webster book comes out and she never disappoints. She is definitely my author of ! Jul 14, Shabby -BookBistroBlog rated it it was amazing.

Crazy Clumsy Bernice "Neesy" Noble is true to her name. She's gentle, Noble, kind. But also a healthy dose of Crazy, funny , inappropriately candid. She has a crush on her handsome boss Adrian Hockstead and when she's offered a position at his house, she jumps to it, thinking she's being auditioned to be his kinky sex slave a la Christian Grey and Ana. Only Neesy could think this absurd. The story turns from here. She's not here to work per se, but to be a companion to Read the book and find out! A complete packaged story that made me fall more and more in love with Webster's writing.

I finished the book in one sitting. How can the same person who created Gabe, create Bernice , is wonder. But that shows Webster's range of creativity. Prepare the bed kristi!!!!! K Webster has become one of my favorite authors. She is so versatile in her writing and I love the ways she can tell a story. I'm a sucker for really dark reads, but also love me some sappy sweet ones too. Yes, it was emotional and angsty and I loved that. I adored Neesy's character and her clumsy, quirky ways.

I will continue to stalk this au K Webster has become one of my favorite authors. I will continue to stalk this author and read whatever she writes, seriously, she can't write fast enough for me.

I don't remember everything in details , but I do remember that the male MC's character was giving me a whiplash , hot'n'cold , yes'n'no feel like I am going all Katy Perry and shit. The story was good and the ending was perfect for the characters. H had some anger and grief management issues. Also, a heaping mountain of grief and regret on his shoulders.

If h hadn't come along when she did, I think he would have gone over the edge. I liked it - not quite the WTFery I expected. Webster managed to make this The woman's a genius! I love her work. Aug 02, Tanaka K rated it it was amazing Shelves: For tonight, I want to be your whole world. Webster's books and she always delivers stories that are beyond the norm. There is something different in her books which I love. I love her dark, twisty and fucked up books that always get me to edge of my seat but its her emotional books that are always touch my heart.

Untimely You is an emotional book that truly had you on a rollercoaster of feelings. This book had me bawling like a baby but truly told an unforgettable story of loss, love and forgiveness. I do not want to spoil this book for you. This one of those books where you have to take a chance and read. Not only does this book blow your mind but it tells a beautiful story that spoke to me. Besides the emotional story, Untimely You was a book that made me smile and laugh. It was not just about a book that brought out the feels, although I wanted to cry every scene but there were moments that were so inspiring that it brought so much light and heart to the story.

Not only was it touching but there was a unique story which I did not expect and definitely showed the signature wtiting style of K. Her ability to create different stories that are both engrossing and different just makes me fall in love with her books more and more. Untimely You not only had an unforgettable story but it had characters who were dynamic and truly gave an edge to the story.

Untimely introduced us to Neesy and Adrian who completely had an enchanting yet emorional story together. They had true chemistry and I followed their thoughts and feelings which captivated me. She makes my heart ache with need. With every smile or laugh, she sends currents of happiness coursing through me. I love being around her. I love kissing and making love to her.

She was unique, funny, kind and full of life but its her vulnerable nature that spoke more. Her willingness to forgive easily. People might see that as being a doormat but it was npt. It was true natire that brought life to every single scene in the book. Her willingness to fight for love and her ambitions clearly made her one of my favourite heroines. I want to give her the sun and the moon and every goddamn star in the sky.

I know, harsh but true lol. He was hot and cold all the time. First he wanted Neesy then he ould feel guilty for wanting her. It was frustrating lol. But it was his pain that made me want to read more. His pain made me emotional and I even cried a bit. He was so protective and lovig but his anger issues made him a tad irrational but I loved him. Untimely You was an amazing book that truly touched my heart and will forever leave a imprint in me. While he was hesitant at first, they almost immediately entered a sexual relationship. And Neesy, who had been crushing for Adrian for so long was willing to comply with his lusty wants.

Here's where it didn't work for me: The pacing of their relationship. For me there wasn't a time where they were able to actually talk and connect with each other. Like I said, they immediately fell into a sexual relationship. While it's good and there's no shame in that, I felt like Adrian was using her as a crutch more than anything.

He found comfort in her, so he used her without a shame. He might have developed feelings for her along the way, but I couldn't feel it. Until the very end, I wasn't percent convinced he was in love with her.

So that really sucks donkey's ass LOL. It sucked so bad that I had to skip ALL of their sex scenes because of the lack of authenticity. I couldn't force myself to read all of them because everything felt fake and forced. They also exchanged I-Love-Yous out of nowhere Neesy was selfless from start to finish. I sympathized a lot with her. It couldn't have been easy for her, falling in love with a guy who was still very much in love with his ex. But she stayed and was very patient even when Adrian took his anger out on her which was sometimes over-the-top imo.

What I didn't understand was where did this selfless devotion for Adrian came from? I mean sure, she had a crush on the the old man for awhile--it was no secret. She made it very clear from the very beginning but I couldn't fathom why she would selflessly stupidly? It makes no sense whatsoever. I'm okay with unconventional love, most of the time but this one just didn't work for me. Jul 09, AnessaRenee Reviews rated it it was amazing.

And there are books simply get under your skin. Untimely You is is in the last category. It hurt, but pain never felt so good. I can't see it like a simple book. I think I've just read dark romance books from this author. I didn't think a contemporary romance novel will impress me as well as they did. And I rea I think K. And I really, really loved it. I didn't expect such a touching, emotional story.

I was surprised all the time. I think I never loved a heroine like I loved Neesy, this clumsy, golden hearted woman. Add to her this rough, dark, broken man called Adrian, and we have the perfect pair. My soul is anguished, but I really don't care. It's really hard to write about this story.

There are books you have to read. And you have to read Untimely You! Jul 05, Dani rated it it was amazing Shelves: When K Webster tells you she's written a romance, you better believe it. Untimely You is so very different to the darker stories that I've read from K. This is a beautiful, heart wrenching story. Both characters are incredible in their own way, both broken and in need of each other.

Adrian is such a complex character and he had me in knots. He's been through so much, and the situation he finds himself in will have your heart breaking on one hand, and then shouting at 5 Untimely "I'm Okay! He's been through so much, and the situation he finds himself in will have your heart breaking on one hand, and then shouting at him on the other. I loved how she stumbled into Adrian's life and gave him a run for his money.

It's not very often you find a couple like this, so opposite in every way and they seem to mold into each other and just fit. But the one thing they both have in common is their hot attraction to each other that they both try to avoid This was such a funny, hot and page turner read I hope to read more books from both of the authors!!

So many laugh out loud moments! Lilith and Will are neighbors who don't exactly get along after nearly a year of them going back and forth the two finally come head to head No I didn't type that. May 30, Kathleen R. May 29, Lindsay rated it it was amazing Shelves: This book is like that, only a million times better. Any issues with over the top things from the NFH books was missing in this. Yes, there were still pranks, and bickering and snarky conversations but this book was perfection. They had me laughing and crying from laughing so hard! They were perfectly matched opposites.

Even when the sweetest gesture went horribly wrong aka setting the kitchen on fire , it was a joy to read. One of the bet parts was when William went away for a few days and asked Lilith to watch his cat…lets just say: And no, in this case, a vibrator is NOT considered an electric tool. Seriously, this one of those crying tears of laughter moments. Lilith started off calling William variations of Willy Wonka; while he started off calling her Demon.

Obviously they originated in irritation and as a way to get a dig in, but I loved seeing how it went from a insult to a term of endearment. And speaking of Wanka, I loved how William called in to her radio show. This book was just all around awesome. Hollyfield have once again given us a hilarious and heartfelt book. Lilith is a women trying to be independent from her family, moving out on her own, she has managed to get a house and a job.

The hilarity that these two go through finding their way to each other is outrageous, fresh and delightful. These two authors continue to give us books worthy of all the stars. They had Lil who was outgoing and really funny. I wish I could be like her. She had a confidence about her, even though she was a little bit under her parents dumb. Just like Will, she inspired me. I love that Will was Nerdy. This is one of those books that is hard to review. I laughed so hard at some parts. I want to talk about those parts but it spoil the experience that readers have when it comes to those parts.

They need to just be read to get the full impact. These authors work so well together. The flow of the story, the glide from one POV to the next was flawless and the banter that was written made this book a total 5 Star in my book. Their to lovers series was just as great as this book was.

Could be a bit of a dick but I can see past it. Any grown ass woman calling her father daddy just grates at me. Now slight spoiler here Which is what really made me choose to rate this book as I did.

The h is from a wealthy family. The h wants to rebel. Have her own life. Rather late than never right? And her father controlling her. It just got to the point of straight annoyance. Not really my thing. But I just HAD to rant. May 13, Kahea rated it it was amazing Shelves: I adored Will and all his above board OCD ways.

Some I understood, others.. Some I understood, others Will and Lilith were just so much fun. I loved their interactions and the smexy times between them were HAWT! They may have started out as enemies and total opposites, but they fit perfectly as a couple. There were a few bumps in the road for them, but none of them kept them down for long. The writing was engaging and seamless. The characters were unique, flawed but loveable in their own special way May 27, Taz-xo rated it did not like it Shelves: The h is too annoying to continue reading this.

I'm also not finding the story funny at all. DNF for me unfortunately: View all 3 comments. Hollyfield listed as authors, but Sundays are for Hangovers was hilarious and also very sweet. Without going into any detail, because I think this is the sort of book you should read without any background, this book has everything you could want from the two authors. It's a tiny bit angsty, as smutty as it gets, and e Find this review and others are Carlene Inspired.

It's a tiny bit angsty, as smutty as it gets, and every romantic moment is laced with humor. It's Rom-Com at its finest and I don't know why a producer isn't already seeking out a way to turn this into a movie. They're simply meant to be and though it could be that simple, K. Hollyfield turn their affair into a full length story.

Lilith, or Lil, is a really entertaining character to read about. Her perspective is even better. She's sort of the girl that's least likely to do anything right, except it totally works for her. Will, on the other hand, seems too straight laced to even know what fun is, but he's got a bit of a past and a whole lot to offer that replaces his lack of humor. I really liked that we get to know them individually before we get to know them together, because as readers that intimate knowledge is fun to have, especially with the other characters don't have that same background.

It turns into prank wars, flirty phone calls, and a lot of stolen, smutty moments. And when I say smutty, I mean smutty.
