Cubes and Punishment: A Dilbert Book

A distracted read only good during a bad storm. Jul 10, Seth rated it really liked it. Dilbert remains as one of only about three comics that I even bother to read in the paper anymore. I think this is the first Dilbert collection I've read. It's heavily focused on cubicle humor, and although I must admit I've never had a cubicle of my own, there is a lot of true-to-life content here.

Focusing on individual characters per chapter, the author does a great job of showcasing the best of the best when it concerns that character. I caught myself laughing out loud so many times. Follow the Author

Not as funny as some other Dilbert books, because you don't get the series of strips with one topic leading into bigger punchlines. Certainly this is the "meanest" Dilbert book I've read. Best line, "Try giving up hope. It turns the bad feelings into emptiness.

One in particular on the back cover and inside says "If you can't quantify it, then it must not be necessary" and I thought how very true the business world sees this. May 10, Les Gehman rated it really liked it Shelves: This one collects strips related to working in a cube farm. As a 23 year veteran of the cube farms at a large electronics company, a lot of these strips hit close to home. Very little exaggeration is necessary, given all the absurdities of cube life.

Cubes and Punishment : A Dilbert Book by Scott Adams (2007, Paperback)

As always, Dilbert's latest collection serves me well as a "bathroom reader". Sitting there, reading through all the ridiculous frustrations of cubicle living reminds me of the long, boring hours spent waiting for meetings to end and work to begin. Unfortunately, some of the panels seem to come from the ancient days of the "pointy-haired boss", but the strips are still funny, the regulations still brainless, and the characters still timely. I eagerly await the newest installment of how to waste your life for money Generally the Dilbert comic strip has a weekly story line.

They are funny as a set. This book just takes one or two strips from any given story line. They just don't make much sense this way. You don't get the lead in or how a story finishes.
