You already know I'm a bit icked out by the illustrations. It's because the pacifier has a face and is mobile and something about that makes me feel the squeebie weebies. Plus, and I have no doubt this is just me and my perversions, Chupie and his family look vaguely like happy marital aids, as sex toys are sometimes called. If this were not about items children stick in their mouths, I might be ok with that, but Anyhow, let's talk about the text. It's written for children.
You know how when adults talk down to kids? That's what we're dealing with here. And when it was time to go to bed, Mommy and Daddy Binky sang lullabies.

Chupie loved his mommy and daddy Binky, and they were a very happy family. As I am not a parent and I am no longer a caregiver for any toddler anywhere and even when I was, I would not have tried to take their pacifiers , I was not at all impressed with this book.

Definitivamente, ho sbagliato epoca di nascita: I read this first in Spanish and thought it was cute though I knew that I might be missing a bit because my Spanish isn't so fabulous. Fortunately, I found a copy in English too and actually hadn't missed much in the story. It is a tale about a child's pacifier needing to go home to its magical kingdom to reunite with its family.
Obviously it is a book to buy about the time parents need to help a child say good-bye to their pacifier.
It has pleasant illustrations and I think it actually mig I read this first in Spanish and thought it was cute though I knew that I might be missing a bit because my Spanish isn't so fabulous.
