The girl shimmered with untapped sexual potential. In the last few years leading up to the opening of the book they had grown distant with Dan taking extensive business trips and showing less and less interest in an intimate relationship with Sophie: Debauchery was his middle name and women rarely warmed his bed for more than a night, if even that.

Sophie arrives for her interview for the position of his personal assistant: Lucien tries to dismiss her, but Sophie fights back and surprises him enough for him to offer her the job. He also has the gnawing suspicion that her marriage is in trouble and so he decides to do some checking. Lucien sets out to help Sophie by seducing her to show her how desirable she is and teaching her husband a lesson: But nothing really goes as planned, for starters their first time together: On the one hand he was a Thor-like sex warrior, perfectly at home slinking around the debaucherous outposts of his commercial empire, and on the other hand he was a man who craved his solitude and privacy and loved this rare and extra-ordinary setting.

They've been in a dull lull for the past year and a half and the dickhead barely touches her. She hates her job and feels lonely and unexcited. She needs a change. Step new job-- at Knight Enterprises.

With sexy woman eater Lucien. And I mean woman eater in every way possible. She's going to be his personal assistant and he's going to be her wake up call. While her husband is away on "business" for 10 days, she decides to give herself to Lucien in every way possible. She longs to feel sexy and wanted again.

She wants to feel desired Lucien does all of those things for her. He's all about making sure she is pleasured in every way possible. He overwhelms her inside and out. Lucien doesn't believe in LOVE.. He thinks marriage and monogamy is a joke. He's emotionally detached and doesn't let anyone in.

Knight & Play (Knight, #1) by Kitty French

He's able to play Sophie's body like a piano but he won't give anyone his heart. Sophie's not looking for that right now though either. She just wants to feel alive again. I loved their 10 days together and how Lucien showed Sophie exactly what she was missing. However, towards the end, it seems Lucien is starting to see he may be missing something too. Sophie is digging her way inside him, however unintentional it is. But first, she has to deal with her cheating husband and get her life back before she can make any decisions about her future.

This was a highly sensual, erotic, sexy story and I recommend this to anyone that likes some serious sexy times that don't skimp on details. View all 57 comments. I don't mind them having an affair, but what I do mind is her dropping her panties after knowing him only for two days. There were so meny wrongs with this story.

I liked Lucian, because he never claimed to be anything other than himself and she knew it. And he stayed true to him self til the very end. I just couldn't understand why she got all pissy after a while. She knew what It didn't work for me. She knew what she was getting herself into.

He never promised her anything more than a good time. What annoyed me the most was her talking about value of marriage and how wrong cheating is and yet, she screwed him after knowing him less than 48 hours. She went from being vanilla trough and trough to a slut in a nano second. I would hold my mouth shut if she wasn't merried. Then, I would have said "Go for it honey.

She used only one day to think about it. That's what ruined the story for me. I would have liked for her to put more thought in it, before jumping into it. On a second day they went to one of his clubs, she freaked out a little. Did she knew anything at all about the job she aplied for? He told her "Don't worry, it's only work, no play. She ended up orgasming in every corner of the club. Then, he asks her to stay with him for a week, waving his dildos and threatening her with mind blowing orgasms.

He said "Don't do it to get back at him. Do it for your self. And what does that even mean in this case? If he would have said that to someone who was unattached I would have said have at it. I don't blame him though, he looked like a dude who's moral compass was in some serious need of repair. Then, they traveled to Norway, where their sexcapade continued. First of all, when she asks "Where are we going?

I don't think the poor thing knew where she was all that time while they were there, because he never explained to her properly. Are you even Norwegian? Then, they go to the woods, where he ties her to a tree. I thought it was comical. You don't go to the woods in that area without a proper shotgun, otherwise you gonna be a meal to a polar bear. I wondered what would he have done if one would have showed up, while she was tied to a tree.

Would he have started waving with his dildo and threatening the bear with mind blowing orgasm, too? On the way back to London, she gets all pissy about him showing her pictures of her cheating husband with his mistress. I would have said thank you, but she started to call him a dick with no moral ground it's not exact words, but that's what I got from it , she accused him of using her only for sex. The way she said it made it sound like she was hurt. But what did you expected? Lets get back to the beginning, when you accepted his proposal, shall we? The ending was a bit rediculous. She comes home and finds a box with sextoys and thinks it's a very romantic gesture.

She also finds a jewelry box with an arm bracelet in it, that belonged to his mother, and melts. I know that the sextoys were the ones that they have used and that it was meant to be a sentimental gift, but for me, it looked like he was giving his mothers sextoys to her double ew! Those gifts should not have been given on the same day, and especially as a one present.

All and all, nothing new, that haven't been written before. Okay-ish sex and not much of a story in between. View all 30 comments. Nov 30, Fathima rated it it was amazing Shelves: Is it hot in here or what????!!!! That's how I'm going to describe this book. Lucien Knight is the founder of Knight Inc. Lucien and Sophie meet , fireworks explode and lots of interesting thing happens! Sounds similar , right?? Lucien despises husbands who cheat on their wives Sophie Black is dealing with a cheating husband.

Their paths collide and Lucien asks Sophie to give him one week of her life. His timing could'nt have been perfect.. Sophie agrees to Lucien's proposition , telling herself that she is doing this to get back on her cheating husband. So anyway , Sophie says yes to Lucien and thus begins the game of Lucien's seduction. From the bustling life of London To the soul warming and exquisitely compelling Norway Sophie will learn that life is much bigger and better and that she really doesnt know a lot about herself.

Lucien will awaken desires long subdued , feelings long forgotten within her. But what will happen when she returns back to her dull and boring life. Will she finally take a stand and speak up. Or will she blame herself for her cheat of a husbands wandering ways. Well , you'll have to find that out on your own.

Lucien is just yumtastic!!! He is a perfect mix of naughty and sophistication! He has money so he flaunts it. He loves sex , so gets it any way he wants. Not that he is a two timing jerk or a playboy or anything. His policy is simple - you don't make commitments , you cant break them. There is no need to be bound to someone by ritual or societal norms.

You make your own rules and live your own life. No 'forever' kinda love bullshit. The man does not believe in complications - atleast in the 'love' department. You don't fall in love , you don't get your heart broken.. But all this comes from somewhere , a part of his childhood. That childhood that has made him who he is. That is until Sophie Black walks into his life.

Well , I really felt bad for her. Being cheated on feels like shit. Its the worst feeling ever. I loved the fact that she accepted Lucien's offer. The sex is this book is unbelievably hot!!!! Glass dildos dipped and cooled down in a bucket full of ice , butt plugs and blindfolds and whatnots!!!

Sex with Lucien was She felt saturated in him, drenched to the skin with lust whenever he touched her. Sophie wanted it and Lucien gave it to her! Holy cow its a cliff hanger! The book ends at a very crucial moment , hopefully its a moment of truth! I cant wait to read what happens next!!! View all 27 comments. Alex is The Romance Fox luv your review!

This is the kind of read where you just stop thinking and just go with it ; It was an absolutely random spur-of-the-moment buddy read I did last night. But nooooo, he was dead serious. But really, plot or no plot, the sex was H. I give it 2 stars for plot and character development, and 4 stars for smut, which rounds it all off to 3 stars. View all 33 comments. Lucien was really fantastic. And it turns out that I liked Sophie a lot too. Lucien is a young, rich and successful bachelor. And Sophie is his new assistant. He owns a sex toy company along with various clubs. He opens Sophie up to a whole new world. And I loved how he called her Princess and showed her that she had so much more worth and deserved more than her bastard of a husband gave her. A great erotica romance. As I said before, after reading the ending- I have to immediately jump into book 2 to see what happens!

Dec 06, Lisa Jayne rated it really liked it Recommends it for: This book holds an eclectic range of emotions, at times it's wonderfully humorous with laugh out loud moments and witty one liners. It also has moments of raw sensuality, hot, yes, erotic scenes but amongst all this is a tinge of sadness with the story of a breakup, and gut wrenching sadness of the separation of hearts. Did I think the author put this all in one story well?

YES, I was fully immersed in the storyline and found myself torn between the reconciliation of a lost marriage and the pull of a mysterious man who is so swoon worthy I was completely sold. Lucian, the hero of this story is without doubt, the epitome of sexiness wrapped up in a suit. As said previously his charm and seduction is both sexy and unbelievably sweet. I would have liked to have got to know this character more.

I'm wondering if the author kept him consciously mysterious? Sophie completely won me over, utterly loveable and Likeable dialogue. From the start I fell for her charming and sweet personality in equal measure. I really felt her pain joy and love. The story is obviously focused on Sophie our shy, betrayed character. A woman who is in a failing marriage and this story showcases her insecurities, development and pain without it being to heavy.

You deserve to be adored. Comfort sweeter than he'd ever found from a woman's touch. Torment, so with that thought in mind off to book two. If your looking for a short, sexy read, with an equally appealing hero then dive right in, Happy reading View all 52 comments. Eileen I can't believe I never Heard of this book before! Definitely adding it to my tbr! Your little teaser quotes really drew me in!!! D Aug 20, Melissa Always love your reviews Lisa! Can't wait to read this one! Jun 25, I'm also uber thankful I let this sit patiently on my kindle until its sequel was released.

It has a mother of a cliffhanger. I'm so glad I did. The story- Lucien Knight is the owner of a sex toy company. He also owns several sex clubs and has retail stores selling his product. He's in need of a new PA. When a resume lands on his desk sealed with a kiss, he's intrigued. She's bored with her current job and wants something new.

She's married but her husband pays little attention to her. In fact, he's just leaving for a ten day business trip. Good day to start a new job. Things happen to bring to light her husband is NOT on business and he is, in fact, on holiday with a lover. Lucien also knows this as he's hired someone to investigate him.

Sophie just seemed really "off" when discussing her marriage. He's got pictures to prove it. He's drawn to her and wants her to feel beautiful. To feel cherished and not thrown away like a piece of trash her husband is through with. So he offers her a week of passion, of every sexual experience she's dreamed of.

When the week is up, she hopefully will feel confident and armed to kick her asshat of a husband to the curb. I can see why reviews are mixed. The book is in third person. I'm finding that's my least favorite style but that's here nor there. The reason for mixed reviews, my guess, is that there isn't a lot of drama or angst and it's largely smut.

There isn't a huge storyline either You don't get a huge character development of either Lucian or Sophie early on. I wanted more details about Lucien. It does build later in the story. Lucien has a lot of emotional baggage related to adultery as his father was also a cheat. He never wants a woman to feel the hurt his mother felt.

The chemistry is off the hook. Lucien can go from sweet and romantic to raunchy porn star from scene to scene. If that's not your comfort level, I'd pass. It's very tit for tat. When their week is up, Sophie has to step into her house and confront Dan. Lucien just hopes he's armed her with the confidence to do so. Diving into Knight and Stay! View all 45 comments. Apr 07, Dec 03, Shurrn rated it really liked it Recommended to Shurrn by: Kitty French begins her Knight Series with a Bang! This is a rough cliff-hanger, so be prepared to immediately move on to book two.

Lucien Knight is everything I've come to expect in a scorching hot alpha-male billionaire who runs a successful corporation which specializes in sex. Sophie Black's sexual and emotional journey was funny, angsty, and steamy. Admittedly, she is not may favorite person; hard to take the moral high-ground when you decide to cheat on your cheating husband There is a serious rift among reviewers of this book Some readers absolutely loved it.

Others bashed the crap out of it. You knew it was mostly sex 2. You knew he was an Alpha-Male Billionaire Type 3.

    Get A Copy

You knew there was cheating Those three complaints are the main soap-box for detractors of this book, but Kitty French clearly warned readers of this right in her synopsis of the book. Did you also read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies then complain in your review because you don't like zombies? Did you read this book knowing that you probably wouldn't be comfortable with what was going to happen, then gleefully hate on this? Based on my reading habits she asked if I would like a review copy of her new book. I asked around, saw that the series was rated highly among my book friends and agreed.

It took me half a chapter to realize that I knew this book. When it was originally published I saw it on the "best sellers" charts on iBooks, read the synopsis, and passed it over. Then promptly forgot about it. Why did I pass it over? The subject acts as a red-flag for a probable bias against the entire book because I don't like the subject matter. I am a professional reader of Erotica. I've read every kind of sex there is, from hard core to the softest vanilla and every sweaty, kinky moment in between.

So when I say that a subject is "red-flag" I'm being quite literal I have a list albeit a short one of Erotica I will not read for work because it is not the author's fault that I don't dig cheating stories. An author doesn't deserve to have their book panned because the reader bit off more than they could chew. Kitty French states right in her synopsis that this is a book about cheating So I took myself out of the line of fire. If I can read vampires, aliens, zombies, and billionaires who can be healed with the power of love I can sure as hell plant myself firmly in the land of this is fiction.

And get over my hang-ups. I will continue the series. I will probably remain reticent to read adultery romance in the future. I appreciate this book for what it is. Kitty French did a great job with this book. Credit where credit is due. Some of my Favorite Moments: I'm taking it because for a while back there today I glimpsed a different version of myself, and I liked her better.

Had someone plucked her out of her own life and dropped her into a fantasy? She was naked in a sex club watching a Viking warrior suck on a cherry. This was not her average Tuesday evening. They moved in frenzied primal unison. He screwed the glass dildo as deep as it would go inside her and traced letters on her clitoris with the tip of his tongue.

P… she shuddered R… she arched I… she moaned N… she gasped his name C… "Lucien…" E… she came S… and came S… and she came He was hands down the most charismatic, fabulous man she'd ever met, the stuff of every woman's daydreams, but life with him in it rather felt like having her foot jammed on the accelerator. He left her breathless and giddy, and he did things to her body that she didn't even know could be done. She barely knew him, yet he seemed to know her inside out.

Sex with Lucien was a cross between the most sweeping romantic movie and the filthiest porn flick; he was feather gentle and filthy erotic all at the same time. View all 17 comments. May 11, Mo rated it really liked it.

    Knight and Play

I must say I started this one thinking to myself …"OK, here we go again, another rich man … whips, cuffs and bondage …. But it was much more than this. Sophie is married and her life is spiralling downward - her husband hardly touches her and she fears he is having an affair. She is bored in her job and decides to do something about it. She takes a job at Knight Enterprises, working for Lucien Knight. Lucien was CEO of many Clubs and of an Adult Sex Toy company so this was something completely di I must say I started this one thinking to myself …"OK, here we go again, another rich man … whips, cuffs and bondage ….

Liked the flow of the book, the sex scenes were hot. Loved that he whisked her away to a country that is rarely mentioned in books, well, not the ones I've read. Just glad that I have Book 2 to dive into as soon as I finished this one as I did not want to hang around to meet up with the delicious Mr Knight again … A butterfly from her chrysalis, she'd emerged even brighter and more spellbinding that he'd imagined.

She'd used her body to pleasure him, and in her arms he'd found far more than physical release. The world had seemed a pretty bleak place standing in the cold graveyard that afternoon, but right now, anchored inside Sophie's naked body with the warmth of the fire on their skin, it seemed pretty damn close to perfect.

Some time just after one and somewhere in between awake and asleep, Sophie moved beneath him again.
