Nov 03, Robin Morgan rated it it was amazing Shelves: While this book essentially epitomizes the basic tenets of our main religions, I feel there is one Christian hymn which all this might fall into: Any portion of this can only occur when individuals who are faithful to their own individual are involved.

I feel that anyone truly reading this book might experience a euphoric sense of personal growth or transformation. Jan 03, Alex Prosper rated it it was amazing. This book is a balm and a treasure. I find it necessary to have thoughtful guidance on my path toward individual growth and towards a more humane society, and The Rainbow Bridge offers just the kind of guidance I need: The author deftly is challenging and supportive in just the right measures. This is a volume to turn to again and again. In the first part of the bo This book is a balm and a treasure.

In the first part of the book, Hunter defines the concept of Rainbow Bridges and the phenomenon and yearning for connection that carries it forward. The second part delves into an exploration of the principles of the concept, making connections between various other religious and philosophical teachings to show the cross-cultural universality of the principles. I really loved how the ideas are presented so beautifully and easy to understand, making the material broadly accessible and making it a model of the very open, friendly connectedness it teaches.

There are 60 sections that can easily serve as daily thought meditations individually after you have finished reading the entire book.

The concepts at the end of Part II are necessary reading and felt truly supportive of seekers and had direct relevance to my individual path. Part III focuses on cultivating inner peace and contains excellent meditation instruction along with other tools for mindfulness and an integration of the concept of The Rainbow Bridge, and then the book supports and challenges readers with an in-depth analysis of how we can share that inner peace outward by building a human-centered society and world politically, economically and culturally.

It's rare to find an author who can first of all make all of these connections, and secondly share it all so eloquently with readers. I left the book feeling wiser, centered, purposeful and empowered. There's much more, including inspiring quotes, resources and specific examples. In all, I am struck by the way The Rainbow Bridge synthesizes important universal principles and puts handles on them so that are easy to grasp and integrate.

This is an essential read and is most definitely one to share, creating bridges of wisdom with the recipients! Jan 03, Taylor Smith rated it it was amazing.

It will make you think and ponder about the possibilities in life of world peace. I would say that my favorite part of the book was the inner peace section. To me, there's nothing more important than achieving inner peace with yourself and it can help you be a better person in other aspects of your life.

It can be a bridge from two people, two ideas, two beliefs, two countries, or it can even be a physical bridge. One of my favorite parts of the book include the Universal Principles in Part Two—which are basically pieces of wisdom so you can live a happy life, and live it to the fullest. Each principle has a brief explanation and some are followed by a quote. Near the end of the book, there is also a collection of inspirational and beautiful quotes and messages that I really enjoyed. I learned a lot about meditation and how to achieve my own inner peace, despite the hustle and bustle and stress of everyday life.

All seven parts really come together and have this effect on you. You will learn a lot, and definitely improve your life by taking some of the words into your heart. It is something like the destination remains the same whichever route is taken and whatsoever time one spends in reaching to its destination.

In The Rainbow Bridge: Bridge to Inner Peace and to World Peace, Brent talks about the main factor that must be acquired to reach to your destination. This factor is the inner peace one keeps searching for throughout his life. The excellent piece of advice from the author is to find out a middle path that is irrelevant of any religion or race but should be able to get you reach to your destination.

The quotes and poems that have been referred to by Brent at various instances while writing this book are quite correlated and relevant to the subject. But just because we are different doesn't mean we can't work towards one common goal. And that goal, is uniting through LOVE. We all have something to offer.

That love that is often hidden inside us. We all have love in us. Many times we don't show it. We may think we don't have time, that someone else will do it or that we don't want to get involved. We don't reach out that hand to help, to give comfort.

But don't we owe it to ourselves and others, to try to bridge that gap that holds us apart? A bridge of many different thoughts, people, goals and so much more. There are reasons for the hatred, the anger, the turmoil in our world. But until we reach out and try to bridge that gap and find what is truly causing these things, the world won't get any better, only worse.

We have to dig for the answers, and dig deep. The world can be a much more settled, stress free, happy world if we just meet others halfway over that bridge. That bridge isn't build in a day.

It takes work, hard work and it takes time, but most of all, it takes LOVE. We need to open our eyes, look deeply and thoughtfully into what is going on around us. IT isn't all about YOU. IT's about us ALL! It won't only make others feel better and do better, but it will help to settle your heart and soul.

May 05, Francis O'Neill rated it really liked it Shelves: The Rainbow Bridge has been around since The author describes this fourth edition as the 'most significant upgrade' in thirteen years. He writes that it, 'includes additional concrete practical actions we can take to help shift our collective future in a positive direction as we collectively create a bridge to a more just and peaceful future.

It is a seven-part resource with this endeavour in mind. One might more readily describe it as a manual or a bible for a global movement of humanity working towards better understanding, building a better world, and importantly spiritual nourishment of each other - through unconditional love, kindness and respect for each other, and respect for the good Earth. In context it has certainly already been embraced by many peoples across the world and by thinkers and spiritual leaders alike - for example Neale Donald Walsch and no less than the Dalai Lama - who have endorsed the book.

It has also won numerous literary prizes. Global intentions Its intention therefore is awesome and ambitious, endeavouring to link up all other networks - networks such as the UN, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Martin Luther King Foundation, and a host of others that are listed in its pages. And let's be clear, with the Internet in place this is now a much more feasible prospect than it would have been twenty years ago.

With the 'means' in place there is therefore great excitement and hope at the prospect. The book draws on the common ground between our religions and beliefs, and brings us back to the basics of what it is all about and how to live it. I'm talking about 'life' of course. And when I use the word 'basics' I mean the spiritual essence of our lives. We are reminded through the book of the ancient and lasting truths of our being. Actually, as you'll find working through the pages, the good stuff of life, the moral compass we need, can be simply stated and easy to grasp.

We know most of this advice in our hearts already but it is helpful to have the eloquently written reminders - a ready source of nourishment. And to apply the advice!? Well of course that is the difficult part.
