But pregnant or no, this is a great spot. Known familiarly as HUB, this go-to joint has multiple play spaces, a solid kids menu, and great beer for the parents. Hopworks Bike Bar is another great option, also with a play space and great food. Grab your food in minutes and then check out the planes taking off and landing while you eat. The menu is very affordable, too, with several gluten-free options.

This spot is always crowded for weekend brunch, and for good reason. A parent can dream! Another counter restaurant less wait time is always a good thing! Plus the food you get is healthy, abundant, and not too pricy. The kids will love playing with the large array of plastic dinos while they wait.

There are a number of locations to try out, but we are particularly fond of the Westmoreland location. They also have crayons while you wait. The beer and wine menu for grownups is pretty great too. The owner always makes a point of talking to the kids and making everyone feel welcome. This kid-friendly spot is a great choice for outdoor eating.

Their outdoor seating area is enclosed and has heat lamps—perfect for Portland. They also have a great happy hour and lots of coloring books for kids.

This is a great one to visit with out-of-town guests when you want to go just a little fancy. The Old Spaghetti Factory. This Portland-based chain caters to families with affordable pasta dishes, roving entertainers, and more. It sure is, and delicious too. While you wait for your pie, kids can color with the crayons and coloring sheets available onsite. Plus kids will go crazy for the cereal bar. For grownups, the coffee is top-notch.

And, to be honest, so is the cereal…. Your slice will be ready in minutes. Grab a bite to eat while your kids go wild in the play area. Time your visit for a Wednesday night.
