In the end, they, with a little help from their friend eccentric old Myrtle, must solve the mystery or more of the old ones in town might end up dead. Spookie is a quaint village often cloaked in fog and filled with mysteries. Her sister Evelyn, the local animal hoarder, is missing. Because of them Myrtle fears a coven of wanted-to-be witches she once knew, and escaped from, almost sixty years ago could be behind the kidnapping because she stole their ancient black grimoire—and they want it back.
Is she merely a psychic or is she something more? And will they get Evelyn back alive or will the old witches find and possess the grimoire first? The fourth Spookie Town Murder Mystery.

I do plan on writing another Spookie Town Murder Mystery…perhaps next year. But the Spooky series is very close to my heart and I will continue to write them. Also, my Dinosaur Lake series is well liked, too.

I downloaded this book from Kindle Australia thinking it was going to be a quick cosy mystery read An easy, clean read with a bit of added oomph and a hint of the paranormal, it was also a look at how the sins of the past are revisited in the future, as well as a heartwarming read of new beginnings later in life.
The sad truth of living in a small community where everyone knows what you're doing even before you do brought about a few giggles, along with a few snorts of suppressed laughter at the collection of odd, quirky characters that stand out in such a place. Once the mystery of what happened is solved you are left with a team of characters so lifelike that you are genuinely invested in what is going to happen to them in the future An excellent start to what is going to be a new series for me to devour.
A pleasant surprise and highly recommended. One person found this helpful. This book was a delightful discovery. I rarely wax lyrical about a book I have read but in this instance felt it was imperative. The writing was exceptional, I found the characters authentic and the plot gripping.
I couldn't put it down, and read it in one sitting.
