The Nitty Gritty on Men

Pride is at stake. The winners will have lunch-hour bragging rights; the losers will wallow in shame as the subpar sex. Even the least athletic kids rise to the challenge.

Nitty Gritty Men's Beanie

If a similar battle of the sexes is what it takes to inspire sustainable action on the environment, then bring it on. Each sex can learn from the other, and the conversation could go on for a long, long time. Just to get it started, I will compare the environmental impacts of men and women in six areas, and I'll focus on the teenage years and beyond.

Before then, kids don't have much control over their environmental impact and—assuming a year-old isn't yet wearing makeup or running up the credit cards for clothes—boys and girls likely have about the same impact on the environment until they reach the teen years. From an early age, many girls are insatiable when it comes to fashion—and the modern textile industry makes it easy to go overboard. Clothing is relatively cheap to buy, and often designed to last for just a season or a year.

But the environmental cost can be high. What goes into a single pair of jeans? Women buy nearly twice as many high-priced jeans as men. They certainly leave their fashion footprint. But while women may buy more clothes than men, they also recycle more. Polls suggest that women value recycling more than men and are considerably more likely to recycle. Everyone agrees that recycling saves energy, reduces raw material extraction and counteracts climate change.

For example, recycled aluminum requires only 5 percent of the energy used to make the original product and generates 13 times fewer carbon dioxide emissions. Browse titles authors subjects uniform titles series callnumbers dewey numbers starting from optional.

The Potting Shed

In fact, he suggested glass that would simply shatter into small pieces should a branch hit it. To keep costs down, we did the labor ourselves. I also opted to not have running water, thinking that I could carry in whatever water I needed. It was more important, for me, to have electricity for lighting and heat. Hope this helps — and best of luck with it. I also pinned your idea. I think the greenhouse side would make a great little atrium for a tiny house! I am so glad you liked the shed. So kind of you to share this information. I want to move into one now! Happy I could help! Amazing Potting Shed Inspirations - flagsonastickblog.

Nitty Gritty - Every Man A Seller

Unfortunately, I do not have a list of materials in terms of how much of each item was purchased. It was plywood and studs, nails, screws, glass, tracks, faux stone for the outside base, some wood shingles around the door, vinyl siding on the other three sides to match the house, and roof shingles. Hope this helps a bit. Started the shed 2 weeks ago.

All wood floor and foundation on blocks. Good work on the shed. It sounds like it will be lovely. Thank you for the inspiration. So glad you liked the shed. It certainly served its purpose for me — and hope there will soon be one in your future. I found it in a catalog — but it was so long ago. Wondering if you made the door or bought it? And if you made it, any info about how would be helpful.

Thanks for the great info and pics! So glad you like the greenhouse. I have a spare log burner boiler and so am going to add it to my design with under floor coils under the seedling areas. I am so thrilled my little potting shed inspired you with ideas. Your plan sounds fantastic! All up, how much did it cost for the materials and construction of it?
