I must confess that I laughed and cried throughout this wonderful journey I would love to see a movie or mini series form from this.

Elle Casey has jumped by leaps and bounds to my personal top authors, sharing the space with David Dalglish, R. I am recommending it to everyone I know!! Such a fun read. Great characters and action. Jayne is one of those lead characters that you will just fall in love with. Funny, strong, and extremely likeable. I lost track of time while reading these books. Didn't know what day it was, what time it was Elle Casey reminds me why I love to try new authors. The characters are still just as funny as they were in the other books This is a must read for anyone who loves fantasy , magic, and a funny story that is extremely complicated but so well-written that you don't even notice all the complexities.

A reader fan recently set up a blog dedicated to casting the actors for the War of the Fae movie. This will be the last book I read of the series until I feel like spending more money on the series. I was entranced by this author's world and the characters she created, but since the last installment, I have been waiting for Jayne to grow up a little.

I love her swearing, the fact that she does whatever she wants, and her slight sadism with the people she comes into contact with. What isn't funny is the way I feel the need to skim through her monologues, especially when I stop the skimming and find that I didn't miss anything important. When you can skip chapters and not miss anything on the plot, you know something's wrong.

Jayne had a grow up early because of a mother who didn't do her job very well, but it's been four books now, and she doesn't feel like a teen who had to take care of responsibilities: It showed in the way she acted one way but did something at another time. Or maybe I'm just reaching for an explanation on why she's the way she is.

Her friends were relevant in the first book, but I feel that by now, they've become nothing but fillers. And what was up with Chase? While I liked the idea of them possibly being together, it was still weird to see- well. Long story short, I didn't like the way this book was ended. Things got so annoying for me, I've decided to leave this series alone. The price isn't worth the experience I got from reading this. I went up to book four because of the world I was brought into, but there's only so much I can take of Jayne and the dialogue.

I recommend the first two books, and recommend you stop at book 2. But that's just my opinion for having only read four books. I didn't see that coming. What a sh-t storm! Crap is happening, the whole compound is a mess, who knows what is happening to who or where. All fae are being called in on the double to prepare for an epic battle between light and dark fae.

Yeah, we're getting to the war. Jayne is starting to get training, thanks to Tony, of all people. Her personality is still the same, and people are beginning to fawn over her. She's mooning over Chase, can't say I don't blame her, but he's out of reach. Jayne and Tim's conversations are getting on my freaking nerves, man. I get it, they're great friends and they joke around, but it seriously feels like half the book is about those kinds of conversations. They are not adding anything for me. I loved every single minute.

There is a follow up series called Clash of the Otherworlds that has officially been moved to the top of my to be read list. I recommend this series for anyone who enjoys the Faerie world, or any urban fantasy junkie.. It was well worth the read and I cannot wait to begin the follow up series!

Are they the ones breaking down their doors Friends come and go, bridges burned are rebuilt, love is lost and found. The survival of the fae depends on the answer to one question: Mild violence and significant foul language within. I can't even express how much I'm loving this series. Yeah, there may not be sex but the story line is fantastic! Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. I'm so over this series. What an utter disappointment. I didn't love it, unlike the three previous books. Most of the time, I felt like the whole purpose of this book was to raise question after question after question, confusing und frustrating the hell out of me, without answering or resolving anything at all. I really should have counted all the ' I can't tell you 's and ' That's not my story to Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

I really should have counted all the ' I can't tell you 's and ' That's not my story to tell 's and such. Still, it would have been enough for me to read the next installment because I still enjoyed the majority of the characters, and I'm particularly crazy about Tim, the happy, sarcastic, vengeful little Pixie with indigestion issues.

And though Elle Casey decided to take the cheap and easy way to make me curious about what was to come, she succeeded. I really hate the direction the story took afterwards. There, I said it. As if all the build-up so far, every word I read up to that point had been completely in vain. Oh, sure, there was plenty talk about war. But all I got in the end was one teeny-tiny battle that lasted about two minutes.

And why did I bother reading about Jayne crushing first on Spike, later on Chase which, mind you, was far-fetched and too sudden, albeit appreciated — Team Chase ftw! View all 3 comments. I loved, loved, loved this series so much. First thing, you will NOT want to put the books down, and if you read like I do, will complete them anywhere between two to four days.

ALL the characters have their own strengths and the group chemistry between friends is amazing. There is a pixie, Tim, who will crack you up and have you laughing so damn hard you won't know what to do with yourself. I was kinda sad how it ended NO SPOILERS ; however, there is so much left out in the open not in a bad way that as others have stated, the author's spin off series will inevitably get into that. I just cannot rave about these books enough and have told many friends about them. D i read all four if them in a week. May 06, N. I did it and my reaction wasn't cute: So yeah, that happened to me.

However, I decided that I was still reading the book because I thought that everything would make sense at the end about -at least- the romance-weird thing, but no, it didn't! I just felt more and more confused wanting to skip pages because it was just queer. I found Jayne I'm between 2. I found Jayne really annoying, selfish and inconsiderate.

What the heck happened to her? Most of the book was about Jayne and friends fighting the "evil forces. How in the world did Ben become Jayne's mate At least Chase and Spike had story with Jayne, but Ben didn't interact with her a lot. Then, we found out that Chase is an angel and his mission the real one was to unite both Fae Dark and Light with the help of the Mother and the Father I kid you not. Consequently, they both had to marry because I guess is the only thing that helped to really unite both clans. Now that is a higher purpose. View all 4 comments.

While this series is complete, the story will continue in The Clash of the Overworld. Depending on how that series goes, I can see the clear demarcation between series. I still am in love with Jayne's inner voice, the lack of overabundant teenage angst and just a damn good story. I listened to a majority of this book in my car via Kindle's text to speech and found myself more than once laughing like a loon in my car.

The thought of a demon wiener getting anywhere near my hoo-hah was absolutely gag-worthy Note: The Changelings War of the Fae 1: Jayne has a life that leaves much to be desired. The only bright spot is her best friend Tony, who knows her better than anyone, and who is the only consistent, stable presence in her life. In order to prevent himself from taking revenge on behalf The Changelings War of the Fae 1: In order to prevent himself from taking revenge on behalf of Jayne, the two of them decide to run away. This action is the domino that sets all the others in motion. Jayne, Tony, and several new friends are thrust into an entirely new world where things they had thought were fantasy are a reality.

To do this, they have to put aside what they had previously accepted as truth, and allow themselves to believe that everything is not always as it seems.

War of the Fae - Book 4, New World Order (Paperback)

The first thing that stood out about this series was the main character, Jayne Sparks. Jayne is not your stereotypical high schooler. For one, she is very comfortable in her own skin. Jayne seemed to know exactly who she was, and exemplified this through her loud and foul mouth ; At the beginning of the series, these traits seriously bothered me. I was kind of hoping that Jayne would become a secondary character, because she was annoying the crap out of me. As book one progressed though, I started to….. This feeling only grew throughout book two, three, and four. I ended up admiring her sense of self, even if that sense of self involved an exorbitant amount of swearing, teehee!

I also grew to love this series because of the secondary characters; most notably Tim. Tim, a pixie that Jayne helps, is quite the character. He is very large and in charge, even though he is a wee little thing. Tim offers a lot of comic relief in the story which, already contains a lot of humor , through his side comments, itsy bitsy Pixie farts, and his constant preening.

Scrum also became a beloved character, despite his resistance towards washing his hair. Scrum ends up being a great friend to Jayne, and a very capable protector. One problem I did have is that I was left wanting more. The whole series was a gigantic build-up to a supposed battle.

The thing is view spoiler [ the battle never happened hide spoiler ]. Because of this, I felt like I was kind of left hanging at the end of book four. To my surprise though, there IS a continuation to this story. These books are definitely not for everyone. If you are in the mood for a snarky, sassy lead, and a cast of funny unique characters, then you might enjoy this series. Holy Molly, what a great serie! Not a dull moment, full of surprises and great characters. I love Jayne, she rocks the old fae world.

Sassy mouth, sarcastic, loyal, courageous and mischievous. She comes no holds barred in this fae world, makes mistakes but saves the day. It reminds me of the Shadow Fall serie with the supernatural bunch of incredible friends, plot and humour. You've got no telling names because I don't want to spoil the fun: I juts read the 4 books in less than three days.

I cannot begin to explain how much I loved this series. I am recommending it to everyone I know!! Such a fun read. Great characters and action. I absolutely love this series and Jayne is my hero. I love her smart foul mouth and her freak outs but she is overall a great person struggling to do what is best for everyone. Also I was so sad about Chase was almost as teary as Jayne I hope Jayne can I know she is not in the mood to hear about Ben's awesomeness!!

LOL These people feel so much like friends and i am dying to know how the new mix up is going to go I miss the gang already and am ready to get to know the new Dark fae members.

I do get crazy when you end in the middle of very important scene Thanks for all the laughs and excitement. I thought this was a really great follow up to the last book. One quick comment I have is that when I first started realizing that Chase who I love was not going to be Jayne's one true love I was kind of angry, but by the end of the book and by the end of the bonding ceremony between Ben and Jayne I was okay with the way things ended up. I fell for Ben during that kiss at the end. I liked the way the War of the Fae series wrapped up and left the Light and Dark fae working together and cannot w I thought this was a really great follow up to the last book.

I liked the way the War of the Fae series wrapped up and left the Light and Dark fae working together and cannot wait for the next series Clash of the Otherworlds to come out. Overall, I really enjoyed the whole series. I was a little annoyed with the lack of growth of the main character but the story just never bored me and had me flipping pages like the last 3 books.

If this was the end of the story I think I would have dropped it to a 4 because it would have been too rushed and incomplete. Knowing there is more to it made it easier on which way to swing. This is one of those books that you won't want to put down once you start reading it. Does a great job of bringing everything from the first three books together into a great ending and sets things up nicely for future story lines. This book made me laugh out loud many times. Love the writing, the characters and the story.

I am proud to say I am a big fan of Elle Casey. Dec 02, Ruby Ridge rated it it was ok. What a crappy ending. May 20, Mandy rated it liked it Shelves: My least favorite in the series this far. Even though I'm team Spike from the beginning, I didn't like the whole mother-father arranged binding thing with Chase going away.

Still the books make me curious enough to keep going and see what happens next, because that Ben dude just doesn't sit right by me. Stayed up WAY too late to finish this one last night! To say I loved it is an understatement. I love the interaction between Jayne and her friends, especially Tim. I cried with Jayne and triumphed with her.

But, it actually made total sense and looking back I could see the lead up to it. Nov 12, Tari rated it liked it.
