In it he argues that his conduct was a result of his standing "in symbolic relations to the art and culture" of his time. He let her appreciate life and death knowing that love is stronger than bot i expected more on this short story, but it may be composed as a bed story.

He let her appreciate life and death knowing that love is stronger than both. I am not entirely sure what genre this book is supposed to be.

However I found it to be utterly ridiculous and found myself thinking "wait, what? It isn't funny, it is a little bit awful. Die wichtigsten Elemente der Geschichte sind zwar enthalten: Der Text dazu ist aber leider eine ziemliche Frechheit. Dann lieber noch ein paar Jahre warten und den Kindern das Original zum Lesen geben.

See a Problem?

Love the story, hated this version I love this story, I've read it many times, so I bought this version to re-read on my phone, since it claimed to have lovely pictures. I have an inkling of dislike to Wild that comes from 14 year old me reading his biography and despising the man with every fiber of my being. So, I tried Wild again, reading with different sharp eyes, as an adult. I can honestly say that this tale has no traces of the style I read before, it seemed like a different person, a I have an inkling of dislike to Wild that comes from 14 year old me reading his biography and despising the man with every fiber of my being.

I can honestly say that this tale has no traces of the style I read before, it seemed like a different person, almost. In it, he tries to convey the dismay of a ghost who has his haunting days cut to an end by an American family who bought his castle. Where it was supposed to be funny, it is often pathetic. The characters lack any depth or interest to the reader.

They are not engaging. Throughout the reading I kept expecting some big twist, something, anything of consequence — to no avail. It was dull and disappointing. Of all stories of Oscar Wilde I've read so far this one is the only one I desliked. I know he has this mania of giving his ends a religiuos explanation or putting some holy elements, but in this story it didn't work. I appreciated the story, but there was too much narrative, I mean the story was being told nand not shown by the characters, what made the story a bit slow and boring for me.

Some passages were funny, the twins are great characters, but it could have been better developed. Parecido con el Martin Fierro, a diferencia que esta historia no me estaba gustando nada. Lectura obligada para el colegio.

Which is why I think I didn't like it. School destroys the fun out of books. Otherwise, I love Oscar Wilde. What a wierd, strange little book. I loved the animated film when I was a kid but not a big fan of the book as an adult:
