If it's left behind, it won't matter. No one would miss the writing and the story is one we've all read before. The story recalls any of twenty other books written - and written better - by anyone from Jeffrey Archer to Danielle Steele. No one expects Sheldon to be dense, provocative, or philosophical. Readers do, however, expect a Sheldon book to be accurate and well-plotted enough to lead readers to suspend disbelief, and never look back. A Sheldon book is written to convey to readers a palpable degree of tension, and an engrossing story.

Summaries and Excerpts: Sidney Sheldon's Mistress of the game / Tilly Bagshawe.

This book is none of these. This is a superficial read with a contrived plot and forgettable characters. Has Sidney Sheldon's Mistress of the Game turned you off from other books in this genre? Reading this has certainly turned me off anything co-written by Tilly Bagshawe. There is not a character here I can stand. No one I would waste my time with. Just weird motivations for actions that I just can't relate to at all.

Glad I got it on sale. No consistency, no logic, no follow ups on some would-be-good ideas; it seems like the author did not do his homework and demonstrated very poor knowledge of almost all of the subjects he was writing about; his vocabulary is very poor too; some ideas that could have developed into interesting plots had never been elaborated. All in all the novel gives an impression of being written by an amateur, or by a professional who's either become overly confident and lazy, or impotent In brief, this book is a waste of time and money.

Good Story, not great, but good. I won't listen again, but it was worth the money. Having rated Master of the Game as my favourite book by Sidney Sheldon, I found this to be a well constructed sequal. I enjoyed every minute of it! I liked the story and the suspense. She has become resentful and has plans to take revenge and take over the wealthy family business, Kruger — Brent industries. Alexandria, the kinder of the twins is married to Peter and has a son, Robert, who Kate Blackwell wanted to take hand over the family business to. Soon Alexandria, gives birth to Lexi and dies in child birth.

Her husband is overcome with depression and distances himself from his children. Eve gives birth to Max. The two of them have very different upbringings. Lexi is taught to be nice and kind to people and is loved by everyone.

Max on the other hand is always taught to be ruthless and hate everyone in his way to taking over the family business. In a freak accident Lexi loses her hearing, gaining sympathy from all. Max on the other hand is starved for affection and approval from his mother and executes a plan to kill his father to please her. Now the three great grandchildren of Kate Blackwell all own equal shares of the company. Robert is uninterested in the company and readily signs over his shares to his sister Lexi.

Here starts a convoluted battle for the family business between Lexi and Max. I loved this book for its break neck pace and nail biting finish. It is full of plots and plans that members of a family hatch against each other to gain complete ownership of the family business. The story is amazing with vivid characterization and overall makes for an amazing read.
