My Enchanted Dinner Guest that Never Left

Did you know that the amazing person who did the flowers for our wedding also did the flowers for the Bridal Bootcamp series? It was so special to have a florist who I felt connected with! The photos that inspired everything floral for the wedding were this cupcake photo from Baker P OMG look at that color palette …. This light tunnel was so magical.

It never left my thoughts.

So when it was time to design the outdoor tent for our dinner reception, I knew we had to recreate some version of this! At this point, it was totally still in progress and did not have the hanging florals and glass orbs that Jeany would later suspend from the top! Before we got our puppy baby love Sir George the Magnificent , I wanted to have a miniature horse walk down the aisle with our flower girl! Yes, totally leaning in to that magical theme. But then…in January we were blessed with our first puppy, so we canceled the horse idea and began thinking of interesting ways to have Sir walk down the aisle!

At first I was like, maybe he should float down the aisle in a hot air balloon! Then we deemed it too dangerous. Jackelyn and Sam were like NO. I thought I was close when I decided that we should construct a mini rose parade float for him to ride on! Sam knows I love dancing, so when it came time for first dance discussions, there was no negotiation that it would be a choreographed number!

I was so surprised at how much Sam embraced the lessons and the rehearsals. In fact, most of the time, it was HIM who initiated dance practice at home!!!

We just liked the song! We learned a fun two step by our dance teachers at Your Night Choreo! My goal for was to learn how to do calligraphy. I NEVER expected to do it for our wedding, but when the person who was supposed to do the calligraphy bailed on us, I was left with no choice but to do it myself!

Through numerous YouTube videos, one live class, and tons of practice, I eventually got here:. A post shared by Cassey Ho blogilates on Oct 13, at First I thought…tethered hot air balloon? Then I thought…wait a minute…a carousel!!! A carousel would be so whimsical and magical! The imagery of our friends in their evening gowns riding the horses with their legs swept to one side was all I needed to lock down the idea! This was no easy feat though. The Solomon Estate did not have a carousel.

We had to bring it in. It was almost impossible at first because we were told that the big semi truck could not fit through the side of the house to get to the backyard. But then Laurie had an incredible idea. Bringing in the pieces one by one, by hand. Amazingly, Christiansen Amusements agreed and made it happen!!!!

How much did your entire wedding cost and how are you guys paying for all this??!! Very beautiful though your creative side definitely shines through. The creamy leeks on the bottom were a great way to finish off the dish. Tyler and I both chose the soup because of the interesting idea of asparagus soup.

The soup was light and velvety with a hint of asparagus flavor. We added ground pepper and it seemed to elevate the flavors.

I stirred my soup hoping to find big lumps of crab meat but only saw specs of white, and Tyler had the same reaction: Pete asked for bleu cheese dressing on the side. What can really be said for lettuce and dressing besides that it tasted fresh.

I am a huge risotto fan, so when I see it on a menu I have to try it! When my plate came out and I saw how amazing it looked, I knew I made the right choice. The fish was tender and flaky and perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. The risotto was creamy and sweet because of the peas and the sauce was subtle and tied into the dish well. Steve chose a winner as well with the pork dish. The highlight of the dish was the morel cognac sauce, which tasted like a normal beef gravy with a rich flavor of thyme. The pork was a little overdone, but when you take a bite of the crunchy potato cake, pork, and sauce it is one tasty bite!

Tyler chose a standout dish with the tender and perfectly cooked prime rib. He asked for medium and they gave him a perfect medium. The twice baked potato was crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside with notes of sour cream, chives, and butter. Instead of getting a starch he asked for an extra side of vegetables. The chicken breast was moist and generously sized. The broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus were steamed and tender.

When Tyler saw this on the menu he instantly knew what he was going to order. Zoom on the image to see the weave detail. Machine wash Warm on gentle cycle and dry on low to medium heat.
