A great collection of stories of the unicycle and other neat stories too! Ms Reddy was born in India, is a post graduate in Mathematics, worked in a bank for twenty-six years, is married to a physics professor, has a son doing research in neuro-electronics, and loves literature. Yes, her life is as mixed up as the multiple genres she writes. Just as Joel was inspired by the visiting unicyclist, so were his schoolmates inspired by Joel.

Soon everyone at the school was learning to ride on one wheel. More unicycles were acquired, and now the unicycle is the symbol of The Antioch School, and around town, whenever children are seen atop a unicycle, everyone knows where they go to school. The one big problem learning anything is coming to grips with the fear of failing.

With the unicycle, right off there is fear of falling. Just look at it — the single wheel, no handlebars, no nothing. But then the child gets on it and tries and works and finds out she can ride it without falling.

The fear is gone — this difficult thing can be done — and the child has done it! At The Antioch School the unicycle is an important tool for learning and growth. That is because the unicycle helps young people learn the most critical lesson of all: I think I made it up to 40 mph at one point. Unfortunately, this ate through my stamina quickly and I was soon hungry and very thirsty. I stopped to scavenge for edibles on the side of the road.

I usually can find wild veggies and rhubarb pretty easily, but this time all I could find was mugwort. I was trying to suck what little nutrients and moisture I could out of the delicious mugwort when, you guessed it, another goddamned moose starts charging at me. I hopped back onto the unicycle and continued down the road with the moose nipping at my heels.

The chicken walker launched a 40mm grenade at me, but the explosion only clipped me.
