I love this book, I makes me smile when I read it. If you've ever heard anyone say that golden retrievers are great family dogs, they probably speak from experience. If you want a watchdog, you might as well forget it because anyone that enters your house will get a cheery welcome and will be asked to play.
The golden is "a dog with winning warmth and limitless love. If you live in an apartment, this may not be the dog for you because they are large and also very energetic. The male golden can "range from 23 to 24 inches 58 to 61 centimeters high at the shoulder" and can weigh in "between 65 and 75 pounds 29 to 34 kilograms. They definitely aren't tiny, but they have a heart that seems to be as big as their bodies at times. They are an active dog who enjoys swimming and will enjoy things like playing Frisbee, running or hiking with you.
Originally they were bred as hunting dogs in Scotland during the s and later came to North America.
The goldens, who were discovered to be "great family pets" also have been known to be great guide dogs, service dogs, therapy dogs and search dogs. The book has several informative scattered sidebars that give addition information on the golden. If you decide to actually purchase a golden retriever you will need an additional book on how to care for one, but this book just may help you decide if you want to add one as a family member.

Practically hairless and around 10 years of age. After weeks and months of treatments she is absolutely beautiful and so happy. She is the love of my life. She rescued me and is loyal, kind, compassionate and understanding. She is an incredible gift. This beautiful golden retriever has given life to me! All this web and all the stories here meet all I have learned about our golden retriever Max so far. He is 1,5 year old, looks beautiful, and behaves exactly as its been described here. I absolutely agree with all these reasons. We have longed about the dog for such a long time and after we finally moved to house, we brouhgt home this beatiful puppy. Now he grew up and is simply fantastic. This dog makes us all happy and we really enjoy the time with him.

I recommend this breed to everybody, but with one advice: He loves to be freely walking around the backyeard all the day and he is absolutely loyal. My doughter has already tought him about 56 tricks and I even use it when I do some home works, he is always with me. He can step backwards when you order him, he brings me what I need actually hammer, screwdriver, etc.. My most favorite dog is Golden Retriever too. Very adorable, funny, beautiful eyes makes it awesome.
