Michael Grant: Gone (Gone Series Book 1)

Editorial Reviews About the Author The third of four children and an introvert from the start, Jason Tesar grew up as an imaginative "middle child" who enjoyed the make-believe world as much as the real one, possibly more. From adolescence to adulthood, his imagination fed itself on a diet of books, movies, and art, all the while growing and maturing--waiting for its opportunity. Then, during a procession of monotonous, physically laborious day-jobs, his imagination leaped into motion, bringing together characters and locations of a world that would someday come to life on the pages of a book.

In late , Jason made his first attempt at writing, managing to complete a whole scene before returning once again to reality. A year and a half later, a spontaneous night-time conversation with his wife encouraged him to take his writing seriously and to keep on dreaming.

Due to the incredible support from readers around the world, Jason has continued his trajectory into make-believe, recently jumping from stable employment in the micro-electronics industry into the mysterious abyss of full-time writing. Living in Colorado with his beautiful wife and two children, Jason now spends the majority of his time fusing the best parts of his favorite genres into stories of internal struggle and triumph, friendship, betrayal, political alliances, and military conflict.

His fast-paced stories span ancient and future worlds, weaving together threads of stirring drama and intense action that provoke reader comments such as, "I couldn't put it down," and "I'll read anything he writes. The old review is also there for anyone that's interested. Be sure to check out Jason's other series as well. Wandering Stars Volume One Updated review: Jason Tesar's "Emit" will keep your brain working as you fly through this short story. Every tiny detail has potentially life altering effects that you may not fully understand until that "ah-ha" moment at the end. You'll find new details and connections each time you read it.

The best comparison I can make for this amazing short story is that it reminds me of the movie Memento. This is a short story and it seems just as you really get into it I would love to read more of this character and what happens after this story. If you enjoy something that really teases your brain and want something that will make you read it twice to make sure you catch everything then this is a great book for you.

One person found this helpful. This was a good short story, but I feel like it ended right when it got more interested. Emit is a great character and has a revolutionary idea for the future. He does his research and everything is going well until events from his past resurface at the most inconvenient time.

I felt that the storyline about the events from his past was even more interesting then the program he was releasing to the masses; unfortunately that didn't end up being the focus until the very end and even then only minorly. Regardless, this was a quick short read that gives a great overview of the author's writing style. I enjoyed reading Emit, it has one wondering what it would be like if we really could distort, change or manipulate time. He seems to be making progress and has his group participants involved and actively engaged in the project I enjoyed reading Emit, it makes one wonder if it's possible to distort, change or manipulate time from a human perspective.

He seems to be achieving his goal I hope Jason Tesar add to the story or turn it into another series.
