It changes the perspective of the story and is now told by Baby Bear. Baby Bear and Goldil Title: Baby Bear and Goldilocks become best friends through this story; both enjoying things that children enjoy. They both dislike the porridge that mama bear makes them eat, they both love to jump on beds and they love to go on adventures with each other. In this book, Goldilocks is not a trouble maker.

Kindergarten- 3rd Grade Lexile Level: You could have the students talk about how the point of view in the story changes and how the perspective of the story changes. After reading through both books the students could complete a venn diagram comparing and contrasting the books. You can have the students use paper to create the venn diagram or you could have them use paper plates to create the venn diagram.

Sam befriends her and in the end gets what he wants from his parents who are terrified at her presence. Critical thinking questions in the rear. Again, great in a setting where kids hear the original along side this version and are asked to compare and contrast.

Then they exchange cell phone numbers as she runs away. Highly recommended for Gr. Just two children getting into mischief while the parents are away. Day 4 of school , fun divergent to the classic with great updated antics. Fun book to companies and contrast. May 03, Liberty Kontranowski rated it it was amazing. My son brought this home from his school library and we absolutely loved it. Entertainingly Cute Read with my 7-year old for her weekly book report and we both enjoyed it! I enjoyed this version, where Goldilocks and Baby Bear become friends.

Believe Me, Goldilocks Rocks!: The Story of the Three Bears as Told by Baby Bear

Goldilocks is a very well known traditional story about a girl who breaks into a house and eats all of the three little bears porridge. This story has a fun twist to it. It starts off with baby bear introducing himself as Sam a new and improved character. Goldilocks and Sam become best buddies throughout the story and Sam tells the reader the "real story". Mama bear and Papa bear still treat Sam like a baby but Sam baby bear acts more like a teenager in this series of the book. The author port Goldilocks is a very well known traditional story about a girl who breaks into a house and eats all of the three little bears porridge.

The author portrays Goldilocks as a rebel and includes a scene where she is taking a "selfie" on her cellphone, which she is sending to Little Red Riding Hood. This is a obvious connection to the 21st century and how intertwined technology is in our everyday lives.

Goldilocks is dealing with a dare from little Red Riding Hood and she jumps on the couches instead of eating the porridge. Goldilocks breaks baby bears chair in this story as well when she takes videos and pictures of her all over the house.

Sam spots her and thinks it is so funny and that she is a cool girl so he joins her and they jump on the beds together. Sam tries to convince Mama bear and Papa bear that there is an intruder but they do not believe him until Goldilocks jumps out and scares them out of the house. Mama bear and Papa bear are nervous and scared but Sam had this all planned out and Goldilocks and Sam exchange numbers by the end of the story.

Sam ended up getting everything he wanted in the end because he was so courageous. I find it very interesting that modern day picture books use technology in the storylines. The illustrator also puts a very modern twist on the pictures by putting hip clothes on Sam and Goldilocks but old-fashioned conservative clothes on mama and papa bear. This is a very fun story for people of all ages because for older generations who know the original fairytale can compare it to the new version picking out the modern aspects of the story.

However, for younger kids who are raised in this technological lifestyle they will be able to easily relate to the fractured fairy tale because that is what they know best. I have never read a story like this until recently and I really enjoyed this twist. There was just enough balance between the original story and the new story to be able to understand what is going to happen but never know if there is going to be a new outcome to the storyline. By using the same characters and same concept the author did a wonderful job making it fractured enough to keep the new audience entertained!

If I was a teacher I would definitely read this book to my students and maybe ever use it as a good comparison piece to the original story. Oct 05, Leonie Atherton rated it liked it. I read this book for a 3 year old and a 6 year old. I tried hard to make it fun and they both sat and listened to the whole thing, but neither were too excited about it and I echo'd their lack of enthusiasm. I usually talk to the kids afterwards about the book and ask a few questions but I couldn't really think of much to say in this incidence.

The illustrations in this book are engaging for children and there is a lot for them to look at on the pages. This text would be great to use for teaching the concept of comparing and contrasting literature to a first or second grade class. Out of several fractured fairytales I read for my English children's literature class, this one stuck out for its art style and humorous plot twist. Everyone is familiar with the whiny baby bear who complains at each incident Goldilocks created. This version is clever and fun, making Goldilocks into a more friendly and relate-able character to kids. This is definitely the version of the story that I think really happened.

Well, let me tell you The story of the Three Bears as told by Baby Bear. Fun, colorful illustration and a great story make this a wonderful read. Nov 16, Jordan Coffman rated it really liked it. This is an interesting Traditional Literature book. The grade level in this book would be 1st through 4th. The curriculum connection I would say is social skills because in the story it's getting an honestly opinion from someone and how they become friends. In this book I do not see there being any concern about it. This is a story that little bear gets the chance to tell you that Goldilocks really rocks and isn't what the story makes her out to be.

This fractured fairy tale provides a fresh perspective on a well-known tale.
