Her Dark Knight

That is something I don't think I have seen, ever. The book is an interesting blend of the historical: The Apocalypse as written of in Revelations, reincarnation, immortality, and time travel via angelic intervention. Sexual scenes are written with a minimum of ick. They are pretty passionate, but vanilla. A short read at about pages. The shortness forces a rushed plot with an unsure but hopeful ending. If you are looking for an HEA look elsewhere. If you are looking for a romance and hot, tender but unimaginative sex, this is a good choice. Prepared and more than eager to meet death after his task is fulfilled, Christien is denied the solace of eternal rest.

His duty is to last throughout time as he is given the yoke of immortality and charged with protecting the treasure throughout eternity. This was a dark, intense book. It just about wore me completely out. I just felt so bad for Christien, he broke my heart. In the beginning he comes across as kind of cold and hard, but if he hadn't developed that shell, he would have broken centuries ago.

And bless his heart, it just keeps piling on, this poor soul just can't catch a break. Madelaine hasn't had the easiest time of it either, and to top it off, she's working for the enemy. It was a beautiful story and well worth the read, but it is not a light "happy, happy, joy, joy" book. There are some brief tender and passionate respites from the drama, enjoy those, because the drama and uncertainty continue until the very last sentence.

There are also some more spirited passionate moments that I don't have to tell you to enjoy. It is all blended into a very compelling story that will work your emotions to tatters. The Knights Templar were always an intriguing subject for me because of the treachery and bloody history surrounding them. That rich tradition is well carried out in Her Dark Knight. The myths and hints of the divinely supernatural surrounding these warriors of old still hold fast and firm, lending itself quite well as literary fodder for authors and readers alike. Although I would like to see just a tad more lightness to her future works, I think Ms.

After failing to obtain a signature from Christien, she has to return.

First, she continues to have visions of a past life, and it involves a man who looks exactly like Christien. Finally, Christien has the same sword from these imaginings hanging above his fireplace.

As time goes on, the nightmares become worse, retelling a past which ended in sorrow. The closer Madelaine gets to Christien, the closer she is to finding out the truth—and the closer she is to reliving the tragic tale which ended the love between the Madelaine and Christien from a time so long ago. I will say I enjoyed the flashbacks, because I loved the bond between the old Madelaine and the Knights Templar Christien more than the present-day M and C. Even though the past Madelaine was in an arranged, pitiless marriage, it was great to see her first-time reactions with Christien.

Overall, I enjoyed the premise of the story, and I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a book featuring medieval themes and reincarnation. There was such perfect mix of romance, mystery, intrigue and great story telling that just pulled at my heartstrings throughout the whole book. From the first to last page I think I fell in love with the characters, the story, and the chemistry that you see build between these two that is purely magical. I couldn't put it down, not for one nano second, I was so charmed by everything in this book!

I am looking forward to reading more from this author, her style of writing flowed smoothly throughout the story, and the whit and humor was sparkling and entertaining Nov 12, Lucy Dosch rated it liked it. That being said, I have to admit that it was as depressing as it was enjoyable. We know simply from reading the jacket that Christien and Madelaine cannot be together when they first met since she is married to the lord of the castle and he is a knight.

We also know that Madelaine was killed young. The way the story is merged, definitely heightens the suspense which continuously builds with the separate present day and past life stories, but reading of the horror that would be the life that a woman would have to endure in , makes me happy to be living in the 21st Century, annoying cell phone or not. I liked the idea of a man given immortality to guard a sacred treasure.

Christien Chevalier is your typical weary do-gooder, shocked back into really living by the appearance of Madelaine, who looks exactly like his forbidden love from when he was mortal. Probably my favorite part of the story is the last few chapters. If the entire book had that much intensity, I would have been a very happy camper. That being said, I would definitely give this author another try!

I have to start by saying I absolutely loved this book, the storyline was exciting and sad and the flashbacks to the past to explain the present was a great idea. I loved the characters Madelaine "Lainie" and Christien and you could just feel the love and attraction they had for each other it definately drew me in and I didn't want to stop reading. We have our heroine Laine having to drop some papers off at a nightclub for a client at a firm she works for after finally making it inside after having lined up for 58 min and then being accosted by a drunken nightclubber she is saved by Christien who taken aback by how much Laine looks like his lost love from years ago. While in his prescence she has flashbacks to a previous life she thinks she's hallucinating of him and her.

Christien thinks he's being set up, while Lainie thinks she's going crazy not knowing she's the reinarnation of Countess Madeline who Christien was in love with so long ago. Christien was made immortal years ago after Madeleine died and his job all these years was to protect a book which if fallen into the wrong hands could start the apocalypse. So these two start to fall in love in the present and it seems Christien isn't the only immortal back from Lainie's previous life and they don't have good intentions towards her.

I really didn't want this book to end it was all things paranormal books should be, I'd really like to know what happened after they found it each other again. I can't say enough good things about it and will have to check out all the author's other books. Jan 22, Lisa rated it really liked it.

It was a good story — not my favorite of what Cullen has written, but still solid. This story focuses on Madelaine Alexander. Christien in reality is an immortal Knight. Is this new Madelaine the reincarnation of the old answer — yes? Will Madelaine allow herself to believe the unbelievable and find love with Christien answer — also, yes. Can Christien forgive himself for not being able to save Madelaine all those centuries ago answer — yeah, kinda. Are there forces in play trying to pull them apart and put them in danger ding, ding, ding — yes!

The story was intriguing, and I really enjoy paranormal romance. But for me, it got to a point where it just seemed redundant. A good solid 4 stars. Nov 22, Pamela Todd rated it liked it Shelves: After arguing with the bouncer and enduring a torturous wait in killer heels, she makes it inside. When Madeleine meets Christien Chavelier, she knows she has met him before. There is an unmistakable connection between them. Madeleine is confused by the encounter, but Christien is suspicious, believing someone has placed her in his path for a reason…to keep him distracted.

Christien is a Knight of the Templar, granted immortality to protect the key that could bring about the Armageddon if it fell into the wrong hands. The more time the spend together, the more certain Christien is that Madeleine is the reincarnate of his love he lost seven hundred years ago. Madeleine has dreams of her past life, and of Christien. Dark forces are at work against them, intent of their ruin…and revenge. Her Dark Knight has an intricate plot full of dips and turns to keep the reader of their toes…and keep those toes curled thanks to the hot chemistry between Christien and Madeline.

It could make for an interesting and romantic adventure, or one very confused young woman. Now maybe you can guess a little of how Laine Madelaine feels when she meets Christien one night at his night club.

You should read this book to find out all the wonderful and dangerous things that happen when the two finally meet again. I loved this book from the first sentence to the last word. I was intrigued, saddened, angered, shocked, and thoroughly entranced throughout the entire story. This book will keep you in suspense, and just when you think you figure out what is coming next, the story takes a turn in a bit different direction and keeps you guessing until the end.

Christien thought he lost Madelaine forever and has found that he has another chance. But Christien is not the only one who remembers Madelaine in her previous life. I experienced Madelaine's heart wrenching realization of who they once were to each other hundreds of years ago. She thought she was going insane and he thought he was being tricked.

It was actually painful for me. Bot Madelaine is reborn after hundreds of years with only sketchy memories of her previous life surfacing in her dreams. Both her fear and his struggles with his heart felt real and I felt like crying while I wanted them to have another chance together. Madelaine and Christien's relationship felt like a close one and I could feel the chemistry.

It's been years since I have been so emotionally involved in a book from the beginning of the book that I had a hard time putting it down. I would have liked to see a little more brightness while they were together to balance some of the darkness in the story. With all of the anguish, longing, uncertainty and suffering in the book, I was hoping there would be more to the end.

In this story, it takes you back to a time when life and everything about it was different and harder. You where not aloud to be who you wanted and merry who you wanted. It was all planed out for power and gain.

Christien and Madeleine are to of these very people, who love and hurt. However there is nothing they can do change what has happened to them. I would have Resived from NetGallery. I would have to say Her Dark Knight has a dark tell wound into it, of betrays and love and lust. With something macial and midevil about it as well. I am just so happy I read this!! I loved this book and the characters. Lainie and Christien were some of this best characters that I have gotten to know in a while.

The story settings is both the present and the past and the way they are interwoven in the story is seamless. It made me believe in reincarnation and immortality. The story never really engaged me. The heroine irritated me throughout the novel. She's rather weak and insipid. Instead of standing out, she faded into the background. The same with the hero. He was a year old warrior, but his indecision and whining didn't make him out to be strong.

I was I'm not sure how to review this book. I was curious how the story would play out, but not really invested in the outcome. Feb 07, Mrs. What a fun read, based on the saucy cover picture! I must admit, I did not appreciate the protagonist's sacrifice just 10 pages from the end of the novel He can't stand Knight's beliefs but he can't help but feel attracted to him. Knight hates what the count believes, he's a delusional man but at the same time he sees a kindred spirit in him, they share a passion for history and that's how a sort of friendship develops between them.

Elliot is such an amazing character, he is the scene stealer in this book, you know his beliefs are wrong and even get frustrated with some of his actions but it's impossible not to care for him, at thr beginning you don't even know his story yet and you know that he is just looking for something, acceptance, love, just something. He's always been weak and alone, so he sees murder as a sign of strength. He has never been able to defend himself so he romanticizes William and his actions because he was strong and brave. The other thing is, he's not used to kindness or help from people so when he gets those things he clings to them, in terms of good feelings he is very naive.

So yes, you understand where he is coming from when he makes mistakes. Don't get me wrong, the other MC doesn't get lost in the story, he is definitely a dark Knight in shining armor. He is slut and he is not ready for commitment but he is so loyal and always helping people.

You can see his good soul by the actions he has with other people. Knight's friendship with beast, his familiar relationship with Laurent and there's even a nice chat with Jake that helps you see who this guy really is. In the end, even with differences he just wanted the best for Elliot.

The story, fucking hell is getting good! I don't wanna say much but it gets good and it includes William Fane. The way it was created it helped us get to know and understand the MCs and at the same time see a bit of Laurent and Beast which is always awesome. There's violence, blood and even demon pacts in this book but nothing really bothered me because it's not something that I don't expect from Kat and Agnes. I would say it's different from the first book and I personally consider that a good thing, If there's one thing they know how to write is characters with very different personalities.

Some things happened here that are definitely going to affect the future of the series, the things are "small" details but you can tell they might be game changers, can't wait to see what Agnes and Kat have in store for us. Time travel is not present but the paranormal aspect is still there and it's killing me to know where they are going with this. I wanna mention Jake and Gray, I'm dying to know their stories. We are given a few hints about them in this story and it's enough to make you want to know more but not enough to spoil you.

So all in all it was a great addition to the series, it's a very strong second book and leaves you with enough info to keep you waiting for book 3. I personally already have theories. He will surely grate on your nerves that is the niiicest possible way of saying that , he does a lot of stupid things and doesn't do much to redeem himself. Then Knight comes along being all heroic.

He's always standing up for Elliott and a lot of the time we can't help but think he should just run away! They're both obsessive to the point of crazy and you just want them to point that obsession towards each other. The paranormal side to this story is just as creepy as the first, if not more so! This story was fun, edge of your seat tense and sexy as fuck, but I did not like their relationship drama.

I didn't understand Knight's motivations or hesitations and it felt too contrived to really believe it. Also I felt this book did not need to be this long. It lagged in certain places that I felt could have been slightly shaved back. If you enjoy paranormal stories with morally ambiguous characters and obsessive men, then this story will be perfect for you! Aug 10, Jaime rated it it was amazing Shelves: A Fantastic tale that is deliciously dark yet sweetly romantic. The characters in this series are so unique and some other worldly that you can't help but become addicted to their lives as you read th A Fantastic tale that is deliciously dark yet sweetly romantic.

In this book, we get to see two characters who we "met" if very briefly in book one and now we get in their heads. Knight is VP to the Kings of Hell and he just wants to live his life, party it up, and indulge in all the carnal and forbidden pleasures he can. He has been there, done that, and burned the t-shirt. One thing he does love and is very passionate about is family. Both his chosen family, The Kings of Hell, and his blood family, the Mercier's. So, anyone who messes with either better watch out!

Elliot, poor misunderstood, obsessed, just-wants-love, Elliot. Better known to his "Faneatics" as "The Count" he is a little obsessed with William Fane, Brecon's own notorious serial killer which we met in book one. You see, Elliot is convinced that Fane was just misunderstood and has been stereotyped and categorized with other serial killers. To for once belong to someone who truly wanted him". Slightly romantic way of thinking? I want it all. One thing is for sure though, Elliot loathes Laurent Mercier, the man who killed his idol!

He loves nothing more than to smear his name on his YouTube channel -- which really pissed off Knight! When one night at a party at the MC clubhouse, Knight is alerted to an intruder. The last person he expects to encounter is, The Count. Knight also doesn't expect to have sparks fly between himself and the man under The Count's persona He was a rock, an island of sanity in the wild waters Elliot was forced to navigate.

As situations unfold during the story, Knight finds himself taking on the roll of a saviour to Elliot. He finds himself enjoying spending time with Elliot. It blows his mind and goes against everything he wants. Elliot on the other hand was so human, and so deliciously eager to please, Knight loved knowing that in a way he was in fact fucking them both".

Elliot on the other hand couldn't be happier than when he is in Knights big, strong arms or his bed. In-fact if he had his way, he would never leave! He got his own arousal from it in turn, but knowing that at the same time his body provided a big, masculine man with something he craved was such a large part of it.

But, do people every get their way when the Kings of Hell are involved? Well, not without a lot of twists and turns, a few demonic forces, a ghost who really needs to be sent to the other side These authors know how to write deliciously deviant sex that will make your toes curl! I want to be devoured. Do you see the difference? I can't wait for the next book in this series!!

But unlike in the first book, I had some issues with the MCs. Knight is so generous and so kind, it was almost unreal at times. Particularly when Elliot keeps throwing his kindness back in his face, again and again. For most of the book at least. There is this, of course: Hence his love for serial killers. Yes, he is funny that way. The thing is that no proof and common sense can dissuade him from his believe that William Fane the mass murderer who was killed by Laurent in book 1 is just misunderstood.

Until it almost costs Elliot everything. And still, his insecurities keep nagging at him and me. Admittedly, I forgave him at that point, but he still isn't my favourite person in this series. In a way Knight is responsible for all the bad things happening, too. Thankfully, the guys do figure it out eventually and Elliot finally gets his HEA or something pretty close: However, and this is one reason why I can hand out 4 stars quite happily, the last chapter was just bliss!

Aug 07, Amanda rated it it was amazing Shelves: Both are equally awesome in their own way despite having very different characters. Love triangle, you say? But since William Fane is actually a ghost, I don't really see him as a competition. How can he compare to Knight, the chivalrous and badass biker who loves history. Elliot aka The Count is a seriously flawed character, he is so fucked up that he actually thinks he is in love with the infamous serial killer years ago and he did everything in his power to come in contact with him no matter the cost. However, despite all his shortcoming and messed up thinking, I can't help but fell deeply for his vulnerability and his craving to be wanted and love.

In order to understand the background history of the paranormal element within the clubhouse, including the history of William Fane, reader must have read Book 1. We also get to meet Beast and Laurent again here, although Laurent seems really prickly and irritated by Elliot, which is totally understandable. But I really miss the endearing Laurent with all his softness and innocence. Knight and Elliot started off as a nemesis due to their disagreement about the Fane-Mercier non-relationship, but Knight seems like a nice guy right from the start.

Them being on the wrong foot didn't prolong and in a short time they are already a pair history-digging-buddies and Knight repeatedly tried to save Elliot's life. Knight being a disreputable manwhore does worry me a little, but it seems like his character development was handled quite well. Elliot is totally needy and clingy though he tried to control himself, while Knight doesn't do commitment.

Knight doesn't even see himself with a man romantically, although he can totally fuck one. Man, does he really needs some time time to figure out all the conflicting feelings he had for Elliot. There are a lot more drama that happened between Knight and Elliot and also the ghost of William Fane, but I shall just leave you to discover it for yourself. Despite the long page count with a staggering pages, it honestly doesn't feel that long due to the fast moving plot.

Every chapter there are something happening that keep me engrossed and a lot of WTF moment that left my eye bulging out. This boy was wrapped in so much hurt and it done-did make him stooopid at some points. Sometimes I wanted to slap the sense right back into him Actually, he needed a hug from Knight, but frankly Knight was far more able to show his affections by ploughing Elliot's arse than hugging him - and really, therein lay the problem. Because they both needed a hug.

Of course if it was that simple the book would have been ridiculously short and the hot, kink would not have been there More than a shame. A travesty because Merikan kink is hawt. Knight is now one of my favourite Merikan characters. I mean who doesn't love a knight coming to the rescue, even if it is in his own bad-boy way? White knights are so last century, bad boy knights are the way forward. A bad boy knight whose heart isn't as dark as it seems.

With twist and turns, a heat factor to melt the sturdiest of knickers and a paranormal flavour this book is an absolute winner. Review previously at bmbr. Knight is bad-ass, no question and he is VP of the motorcycle club which requires a lot of responsibility and roles he must oversee. He's also an equal opportunity man who likes to partake with both the ladies and the men within the club. He recently broke up with his hang-around girlfriend, Jordan, and decided he no longer wants to be in relationships.

Knight spends all of his free time researching his family tree and tracing his roots, but finding anyone who has an interest in the same things as he does has been impossible. Elliott has a YouTube channel as 'The Count' and he has a fascination with William Fane, the once owner of the clubhouse, back years ago. Fane is a murderer—among other things—but Elliott doesn't believe it and is out to prove he's not, so when he sees a chance to get some pictures, at the clubhouse, he takes it.

Knight has hated The Count for a long time because he is always spreading lies about his family heritage. He can't believe he is now standing on their property. When Knight goes to remove him, forcefully, he can't help but notice how fragile he seems behind the make-up and wig. He goes against his policy and gives The Count his number—if and when—he would like to talk to get the facts right. However, when Elliot aka The Count gets into trouble, with an ex, he texts Knight for help and he comes running. Knight ends up being there for Elliot over and over and they begin a real friendship with benefits.

They are instantly connected and their chemistry is off the freaking charts. Elliot is as obsessed with history as Knight and they work together searching for more family connections. Elliot longs for someone to love him—and only him—and up until now he has done anything to make that happen However, the more he falls for Knight and realizes his feelings won't be returned, because Knight won't do monogamy, he no longer wants to be a pedestal to be used at leisure. Knight thought they had a good thing going and is confused why Elliot is pulling the plug, but when Elliot leaves, Knight goes ballistic trying to find him.

Elliot and Knight share secrets that no one else in the clubhouse know, such as ghosts, and now that Knight has made it clear he can't commit to Elliot he goes to the ghost of Fane for comfort. But evil is lurking inside the walls and the first chance Fane has to possibly being resurrected This sets off a whirlwind of mindfuckery of epic proportions eventually pulling more members in if they want to save Elliot before it's too late.

Knight, once again, must decide how far he will go to save Elliot.

Is he worth making a pact with the devil? He swore against relationships, he isn't even gay, but Elliot understands him on a deeper, more intimate, level unlike anyone ever before. Is his pride worth losing Elliot to someone else or possibly forever to Fane? My Dark Knight is a long story and too complicated and too detailed to try to explain. It was a bit too long, imo, as it seemed the mystery would never be concluded. It was not perfect as there are several areas of repetition and the story could have been pulled in as it was becoming a bit too cumbersome.

However, it was very intense, the sex between Elliot and Knight was literally scorching but also sweet and romantic, even though Knight would probably stab me with the thought, but he is a sweetheart and so loving towards Elliot. The series is highly recommended and the next book is already in the works and I can't wait to get Jake's story. He so deserves to get his patch after waiting two years. Hopefully, he will be getting it soon. You must read it for Laurent, a time-traveler, as he is the best thing ever.

The authors handle his language amazingly-well and never falter when he is on page. He is such a joy to experience a new world through his eyes. Laurent and the Beast and My Dark Knight, both, end with a happy ever after or, at least, what the demon allows them to have for now, Lol. Ever since I read the first book, I needed to know more about Knight. And when I saw this after I finished, I knew I had to get my hands on it. Although, My Dark Knight was less of a romance novel and more of an action packed book after finishing it. I don't have that many words to accurately describe how I feel about this story or what it was about.

As twisted as the story was I did enjoy it and I really liked the characters. I hated one of the secondary characters though and I 3. I hated one of the secondary characters though and I think if you've read the book you'll know who I'm talking about. But I am excited for Jake's story to be next.

My Dark Knight

This book is about Knight, Beast's best friend that we met in the first book. We learned that Knight is a bit of a slut and has issues with monogamy and commitment. But what we also come to learn in this book is that he's a true Knight in shining armor, always wanting to help those less fortunate than him and always there to save the day for our other main character Elliot.

Knight encounters the Count aka Elliot outside of the clubhouse. The Count is his internet arch nemesis, because he spews vicious lies about the Mercier family. Elliot is there for a new video for his youtube channel but he didn't count on a hot biker getting in his way. Their first meeting was explosive and funny and you could feel the connection between the MCs from that first hello. Elliot is scared of Knight at first but he also finds him sexy.

Behind the facade of the Count, behind the wig, the make up and the ridiculous outfits, hides a lost and lonely boy who has been through a lot of pain. His greatest wish in life is to be loved wholeheartedly, the same way he loves. He has an unhealthy obsession with William Fane, a serial killer, and while that might sound completely bonkers to some, the way the authors protrayed his characters, his thoughts and feelings I kind of understood him.

His obsession stemmed from his as of yet unsatisfied craving to be loved and I felt it was done so well that I deeply empathised with Elliot and just wanted to hug him. Even though he thinks Elliot's obession with Fane is crazy, the two of them find common ground in their love of history.

And when Knight sees Elliot without his Count getup, all bets are off. Knight saves Elliot from a abusive boyfriend and from then on things start to heat up. I have to quickly mention here the sex scenes, because boy, were they scorching! Never pointless but at the most inappropriate times which just added to their hottness: D Knight and Elliot were on fire together! The sex scenes weren't just there for the sake of sex, they conveyed so many emotions and neediness.

Knight quickly becomes Elliot's whole world and his love for Knight just jumped off the pages. That love confession scene brought tears to my eyes. Knight is a bit harder to convince, even though he does everything for Elliot and is for all intents and purposes leading a monogamous relationship with Elliot when he meets him. But of course things are never that simple. The two of them were just soo perfect together! They complemented each other. Knight needs to be needed and Elliot needs someone desperately. Their relationship was angsty and explosive but so beautiful.

Lastly I have to mention the paranormal aspect. It was more prominent than in Laurent and the Beast and it kicked ass! I was completely taken by surprise by what happened and it was so suspenseful the whole time, I was at the edge of my seat! I can't wait to see where they're going with it! Sure, Elliot might have made some not so smart choices but they didn't come from an evil place, so I could totally sympathise with him. Some crazy things definitely happened but the way it was written, it just felt so natural that I didn't even question anything.

A Merikan have written a masterpiece full of romance, suspense, emotions and wonderfully complex characters! I can't wait for the next books! ARC provided by authors in exchange for an honest review I really enjoyed this. More than book 1. My main problem with book 1 was Beast. I didn't like him that much and I didn't think he treated Laurent well enough. But Knight was a knight, just like his nickname. He did so much for Elliot, even when they weren't sleeping together, he always took care of him.

And Elliot was great too. He was extremely troubled but I really felt for him. He was neglected most of his life and just wanted to be the center of someone's world, and I really loved that vulne I really enjoyed this. He was neglected most of his life and just wanted to be the center of someone's world, and I really loved that vulnerability. I felt like this book had the intense, possessive relationship that we usually find in Merikan's books, which was missing in book 1. This book was really long, but a lot happened and Elliot had a long way to come to deal with his issues.

But my one complaint about this book was how frustrating it was to watch Knight cling to the idea of having an open relationship. He liked the idea in theory, but he didn't want to actually indulge. He refused to commit to Elliot for so long, but from the time he first hooked up with Elliot he never slept with anyone else anyways, because he was no longer interested in anyone else. But he still clung to the idea. It drove me crazy and I can't believe it took him so long to realize he didn't need it anymore.

I am looking forward to Jake's book, but I am more curious about Gray. He is rather mysterious. I'd love to find out what kind of guy he ends up with. There was also an extra scene at the end featuring Beast and Laurent that was super cute. Aug 12, Ivy rated it it was amazing Shelves: For years, he tried to rehabilitate the name of Laurent Mercier, his ancestor accused of the murder of William Fane, a serial killer in the nineteenth century. Kings of Hell MC 1 and discovers the truth about the story, he works harder to enlighten the Genealogy's community on the internet.

Especially his personal nemesis, the Count. Elliot is 25 years old, and he's known as the Count on the internet. He has his own YouTube channel where he tries to rehabilitate the name of the serial killer William Fane. I fell in love with him since the first time he appears. When I read about him, his past, I understood him, I understood where he came from and why he had this unhealthy relationship with others and especially with Fane. Elliot wears his heart on his sleeve, he only wants one thing, be loved, to be completely accepted, not partially, but fully.

He is passionate, funny, smart, proud and whole. I adored this character, really, he is so full of surprises and so loveable. Knight is perfect…for Elliot. Even in his moments of doubt or stupidities, Knight wants to protect Elliot, no matter what or who. Yes, the title is "My Dark Knight", and yes, Elliot is a kind of damsel in distress…but in fact, not. Besides, the occult part was really present, creepier and more intense than book 1. Even if I'll have to sleep with the light on The writing is brilliant, dynamic, coherent and well built.

I love how K. A Merikan put 2 characters wanting things completely different from each other and ended up to be exactly what they really need. Aug 11, Angela rated it liked it. For whatever reason I read everything these authors put out. I can't help myself. I think the solution to the thing that happens was kinda weak.

We are dealing with some serious evilness here and they could have gone bigger. Aug 10, Tatiana rated it liked it Shelves: This book is darker, dirtier and less romantic than the first one in the series. Elliot pissed me off big time. Now I feel sorry for him, but for three quarters of the book I just wanted to beat him with something heavy. Aug 05, Bookishcat rated it really liked it Shelves: This book is intense like so many of this author's works. I absolutely loved Elliot, he was the type of crazy, I like in my heroes and his jealousy and possessiveness were fantastic scenes.

Knight, is impossible not to love he really despite his flaws is a good guy wants to help others. Together, Knight and Elliot are a combustible pair and I really enjoyed. However, where I feel this story falls flat and this was my issue with the first book as well, is the paranormal aspect. All of the paranormal stuff is just not explained enough for my liking, it just seems to happen and I'm left confused about how it is happening and I feel like there is a bigger picture that just isn't being explained. However, these are minor complaints because the relationship between the two heroes is fantastic, I loved them as a couple and they complimented each other to perfection.
