PWN Paris - Digital workshop: Jumpstart to Success Webinar 8 January What a great way to kickstart the year! In contrast to the image of a homogeneous France that could be presented a quarter of a century ago, such a presentation today would be largely mythical. Chapters can be grouped into 3 large categories: From a pedagogical perspective, this alternating format creates a more content-rich environment for the presentation of grammar.

Examples illustrating specific grammar points and grammar support exercises can draw on the readings for greater contextualization. Finally, the alternating format allows students some time to reflect on and absorb the grammar presented, rather than having to deal with too many points at once.

Description

The language of grammar instruction is a controversial issue. Programs that rely on explanations in English encourage students to study the grammar for themselves at home and to practice speaking in the classroom. Programs that present the grammar in the target language strive to encourage students to think in that language. Users of the program have found that French grammar, with its many English cognates, can be taught very effectively in the target language.

Benefits of membership

Each grammar section contains a Comparaisons linguistiques section that is intended to help students focus on the differences between English and French and solidify their linguistic knowledge. It helps students better prepare for class, quizzes, and exams resulting in better performance in the course. This award-winning, nationally hosted online learning system was created specifically for students in language courses. It brings together—in one convenient, easily navigable site—a wide array of language-learning tools and resources, including an interactive version of the Student Activities Manual and all materials from the audio program.

Readiness checks and grammar tutorials presented in English individualize instruction to meet the needs of each student. Instructors can use the system to make assignments, set grading parameters, listen to student-created audio recordings, and provide feedback on student work. Instructor access is provided at no charge to adopting institutions.

Students can purchase access codes online or at their local bookstore. Cultural information has been updated throughout. New support activities, generally focusing on input processing, have been added in the Pratiquons sections.
