His sense of humor is, well, unique, and similar to mine. This is a surprisingly deep memoir about a man who is mostly known for playing demon serial killers like Jason and Victor Krowly. Kane really digs deep into things about his life and his personality. The story about how he got badly burned, is terrifying, disgusting and heart breaking.

His openness about the strange things he does he makes his family strip naked and shower before they can enter his house This one really surprised me and is an easy light read, that will be entertaining for anyone to read. I enjoyed this book much more than I initially thought that I would.

My Mom was a big fan of Kane Hodder, so I bought the book so we would have something to talk about. I really enjoyed this book - Kane Hodder's story is immediately relatable and he shares a vulnerable side of himself that connects you to him and his story. Kane is famous as a movie villain and his perspective on how he got there and what that means is insightful and inspiring. Real life Superman I had the pleasure of meeting Kane at a convention in February.

I immediately bought his book and just had to read more about the man. Thanks Kane for having the courage to share your personal stories and thank you for being a real life Superman. Kane's story is nothing short of fantastic and his medical torture ordeal is horrific.

To hear the emotions of some events and what he has been through. I have met Kane on several occasions and he truly is a wonderful down to earth man. I absolutely love his work and the pride he takes in it. All I can say is "WOW". I have been a fan of Kane Hodder for years and always loved watching him work. But after reading this book, I have an even bigger respect for the man.

I found out a bunch of interesting pieces of trivia, like 1 he is the only person to play three iconic horror monsters: But the tragedy he's been through and the way he persevered is incredible. But the thing that I love the most is his utter love and respect for his fans - I couldn't help but tear up reading about when a boy in a wheelchair met him at a haunted house once.

After signing an autograph he told the boy to have fun - only to find out the house wasn't wheelchair accessible.

Read the book - even if you aren't a horror fan like I am - you won't be disappointed! At a con, we bought the book, from the man himself. I must say that he was a very nice guy with nearly zero ego. Now I know the book was written with someone else, but the source material is what was interesting her. The stuntman, turned actor who came from humble beginnings. It was a well written entry into the genre of creative nonfiction, and I loved every anecdote and story that was told therein. I read a lot of everything, and as far as memoirs go, this was a great blend of personal and professional life, and had lots of ups and downs, and was an easy and enjoyable read. I met Kane at a hotel gym in LA. We were both heading in for a workout and spent the next 45 mins working through our routine and chatting. He's a genuinely nice guy in every sense of the words.

So, I promptly read through his biography and anyone who does will be stunned at what he has gone through to become the genre icon he is today. Truly a story of a self made man that's had to overcome obstacles most of us will thankfully NEVER have to encounter. This is a well told story that should be re I met Kane at a hotel gym in LA. This is a well told story that should be read by anyone who believes in following your dreams and never giving up. For lovers of horror, Jason or just badass trouble makers Kane's story is incredible. I love the pranks, especially the Kane dummy trick.

I actually got this book from Kane at a Horror convention in Chicago. After choking me out while getting my picture with him he told me there was some heavy stuff in the book I had no idea of the struggle s he went through to get where he is today, and it makes me want to go to every convention he's at, and buy all his movies. The book reads well and really takes you into his personal life. I love Kane Hodder and I love this book!!!

I bought this book from Kane himself at Spooky empire convention in He actually did choke me during the photo op at this table. It was a bit scary but only lasted long enough for my husband to take the picture picture.

Kane promised this book would make me cry. It didn't but it was really good. Amazing life and career this man has had. This is worth a read of you are a fan of Kane, or enjoy behind the scenes looks at horror. This will not disappoint! Unmasked is a must read for any die-hard horror nerds and genre fans.

Quick, entertaining, and conversational in tone, this book delves into the life of legendary stuntman and horror icon Kane Hodder. I had the pleasure of meeting and getting choked by Mr. Hodder at a horror convention recently and could not wait to dive into my signed copy of Unmasked. Jul 04, Shannon rated it really liked it. This book was a fascinating, moving look at Kane Hodder's life. Reading about his drive to become a stuntman, then to become an actor and how he perservered after all the pain he went through with his burn injuries was inspiring.

I liked how the book was divided into sections, and his thoughts on being Jason, Victor Crowley, etc.

A very insightful look at a icon. Even if your not a horror movie fan, it's still a great read. How He overcame being bullied, and other things he went through. I don't want to spoil anything. If you are a horror fan and his movies it's an even better read and in my opinion a must read. This is the first autobiography I've read where after I finished reading it I ended up despising the person that it was written about. Kane Hodder comes off as an egotistical asshole toughguy. In saying that, I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to read more into how this guys thinks.
