Ordinarily, I try NOT to read an entire book to him in one sitting but I could tell that resistance was futile tonight. He was so engrossed by the story, the characters, the artwork and humor it would have been cruel for me to quit.
It took less than an hour to read about pages. A word of warning for those parents that don't like curse words or even words like "sucks". This book has "hell" a few times and sucks just once. As in, "Mom, our monster sucks doesn't he. Don't let a few little words ruin what could be a great bonding time between you and your child. Written with a bit of Cockney accent, it helps to be able to imitate the English while reading.
I so enjoyed this comic and loved Rayburn!

One person found this helpful. My 8 yo boy who doesn't like to read read this about 10 times before returning it to the library. The librarian told me he asked to keep it so I bought him this copy from Amazon. I suppose my review is meant to convey, "So good, even the video game playing,sports loving boys will take some time out to settle down enough to read a book. Or at least this book. Every time my son and I read this book, whether he's reading it to me or vice versa, we enjoy great chuckles and even a belly laugh or two.
