Prophecy of the Undead

This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Dec 04, Shelly rated it really liked it Shelves: Fiona McGier where have you been all my life?!? This is my first but definitely not my last McGier. Prophecy of the Undead starts out with a bang! Neurobiologist Keisha Brown is working for a company with some slightly shady to say the least financial backers. Growing up poor and being the first in her family to graduate high school much less going on to college, Keisha is on a mission.

No Fiona McGier where have you been all my life?!? Yuri Kazakov, hottie Russian vampire, has his own agenda. McGier writes a fun and interesting take that pleasantly strays from the formulaic vampire tale. But but but, they actually turned out to be a bit more than meets the eye and I found myself really starting to like them after their experiences with Keisha. I really enjoyed this story and I would like to see Keisha and Yuri in a follow up, not because the story was left without satisfactory resolution but because McGier really created a world that I would like to read more of.

What happened to the sex you say — well, these two are no slouches in that department either. Nov 12, Marcia added it. The author had a unique perspective of the vampire plight. I mean you had my two favorite romance subgenres paranormal romance and science fiction. The vampires are basically who they are because of an advance alien race. The concept was great, there were just more than a few things left unexplained. Quite frankly I was bored and it took me days to read it instead of my normal one day. I felt the circumstance behind Keisha becoming a vampire was never really dealt with before another issue came to the fore front.

Without the closure I was left with many unanswered questions i. Dec 10, Carin rated it liked it.

The Undead Storm

Prophecy of the Undead is a paranormal romance with just a splash of sci-fi, makes it sound like a mixed drink: O Keisha is scary smart and the only one in her family to graduate from high school let alone go to college. She spends her time researching the organic source of intelligence, this brings her to the attention of Yuri a year old vampire who is looking for the elements that make vampires what they are.

This fast paced novel takes us into the unique world of vampires created by Ms. McGier and her world where vampires are the descendants of the Mayan who were created by aliens from a planet that only passes Earth every years. While all of this could be confusing it is well written enough that it is not.

See a Problem?

The characters are well defined and the motives of each is also readily understood. Keisha takes to her new life with very little fuss and Yuri is head over heals in love with her almost immediately. We also meet several other vampires of varying ages backgrounds and sexual preferences. The sex is often and slightly steamy. I found it interesting that intelligence and vampire-ism could be defined by science and it was a whole new twist on the origins of the vampire.

I think you will enjoy Prophecy of the Undead if you are not a traditionalist about your vampires. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review Jan 06, Rachel V. This was a good story. I like the science as well as the history of the Mayans weaved into the story together. I give the book 4 stars.

Someone is trying to kill Keisha and they need to know who and why. I liked the mystery as well as the other aspects of the story. I felt that the mystery was concluded a little fast because of the length of the This was a good story.

Let's Play Disciples II - Undead 71 - Becoming the Dragon

I felt that the mystery was concluded a little fast because of the length of the book but either way it was well written. I also felt this was a little different because it combines vampires and the possibility of aliens bringing vampirism to humans. I also enjoyed how vampires are able to share blood memories or feelings with each other and also how they got Keisha to feel emotions more and enjoy life.

I am curious to read the rest of the series when it comes out because I am hooked on finding out how the story leads to the finale that sounds like it would take place in when they arrive.

Now a vampire, she finds that her research has more far-reaching consequences and is part of an ancient Mayan prophecy. This is an interesting story with smartly written dialogue and fascinating characters.

The plotline is fast moving and exciting in parts. The author does a pretty good job of mixing some very disparate cultures as her vampires are wildly different from each other. Overall, this is an enjoyable read.
