Retribution (An Amy Sullivan thriller Book 2)

Louisa Hancock and Conor Sullivan reunite in the latest and possibly the most compelling of the Midnight series when a brutal murder of an intern occurs after the theft of an artefact replica. From here onwards, it's a series of twists and turns in the plot as Louisa and Conor find their way back to each other amidst the growing danger. Beautifully written with relentless action and breathless suspense, I was certainly thrown for a huge loop when the killer was finally revealed.

After the d Wow.

After the disappointment of Midnight Sacrifice, I was thrilled with both Louisa and Conor and loved how their story developed throughout the book - kudos to Leigh for making 2 people from 2 very different worlds come together in a way that I found poignant and believable. Definitely a keeper and something I'd be going back to read again Starts with a bang and you sure don't want it to end!

I didn't figure this killer out at all and I loved it!! Don't miss out on this one! May 08, Jennifer rated it liked it Shelves: I skipped the second book because I didn't think I'd 1 enjoy it and 2 miss anything crucial. This may or may not have affected my enjoyment of this book. I'm short on time again, so bullet points it will be. He didn't do casual sex, which is a big departure from more CR these days. He was also the main pursuer of the relationship which was nice. It wasn't mind blowing, but I didn't guess the identity of the killer and that I skipped the second book because I didn't think I'd 1 enjoy it and 2 miss anything crucial.

It wasn't mind blowing, but I didn't guess the identity of the killer and that says a lot. What I didn't like: We don't know why she was the way she was, but she was a little OTT. And the whole situation with her aunt wasn't really resolved and that made me mad. How she messed him up emotionally. How he didn't really trust women anymore because of her. I didn't really need to hear about that so much.

I know that the police are real people and they're doing their jobs with some very real restrictions, but the author made them look a little overzealous and incapable of being unbiased. Midnight Betrayal is the third instalment in the series and although it can be read as a stand alone, it features characters we have already met in the series.

Louisa Hancock had to leave her previous job and take a lower position and paycheck in order to continue working in a Museum. It seems like it may be related to an other disappearance and Louisa is taking no chances, she contacts Conor Sullivan Midnight Betrayal is the third instalment in the series and although it can be read as a stand alone, it features characters we have already met in the series.

It seems like it may be related to an other disappearance and Louisa is taking no chances, she contacts Conor Sullivan with her suspicions believing he is someone she can truly trust, especially after what they have already been through together. Conor however has his own ties to the case and the Police believe him guilty.

Can they get to the bottom of what is really going on or is Louisa placing her trust in the wrong place and Conor is actually behind the brutal crimes? I found this to be a little slow and for lack better word Boring. I have read bookd this year so far and This book turned out to be one of the worst I have read.

This is like her first book of the series, slow. The only book I enjoyed in this series by Melinda was the second one. Read at your own risk. This book grabbed me from the beginning and I didn't come close to guessing who the murderer was! Dr Louisa Hancock was unfairly fired from her job as a curator at a museum and has moved to Philadelphia for a job at another museum.

Her life seems to be going along fine when an intern from the museum goes missing. Louisa realizes this crime is not random and it somehow ties to Conor Sullivan, the owner of a sports bar she knew briefly from her past.

The author keeps you at the edge of your seat, as you try to figure out the sadistic murderer, and the reasons , behind the murders. I read over thirty chapters, and still was not sure. So many diversions, and false trails. I also loved the slow building romance, than began in the last book. There was nothing to dislike. I recommend this to anyone who loves a great murder mystery thriller. I really liked the two main characters, and trusted everyone connected to his bar; b I loved this thriller.

Midnight Betrayal

I just love this series!! Louisa Hancock has just started over in Philadelphia, as the assistant curator at the museum. She has left behind a troubling past and experiences that cost her the job as head curator in Maine. She has moved into a lovely condo in Rittenhouse Square and is settling into her routines. And she is trying to look on the bright side of things. Unfortunately, some recent events in her new job have made it difficult, beginning with the attitude of Director Cusack who is a bit contemptuous in his re Dr. Unfortunately, some recent events in her new job have made it difficult, beginning with the attitude of Director Cusack who is a bit contemptuous in his remarks to her.

But even more disturbing: Rikki, an intern at the museum, has gone missing. And shortly thereafter, her body is discovered and the murder weapon appears to be a replica of a Celtic knife that is part of Louisa's exhibit. As the police interrogate each of the employees, Louisa herself wonders if she might be a suspect. But when a second girl goes missing, another intern named Zoe, and the last place she was seen was Sullivan's bar, owned by Conor Sullivan, someone Louisa had met while in Maine, suspicions are turned upon him. Circumstantial evidence points to him, but it is clear to Conor and to Louisa that someone else is responsible.

Retribution (An Amy Sullivan thriller Book 2)

Is someone setting him up? There are a host of potential suspects, including someone Louisa once knew as a teenager And then there is a professor who may have made sex tapes with the victims Rapidly turning the pages of "Midnight Betrayal" led me down some interesting pathways, and I loved watching Conor and Louisa connect with each other, a bit of joy in an otherwise miserable time in their lives. But when Louisa goes missing, and when we finally discover who is behind it all, I was totally stunned. I love when that happens, and that extra layer of mystery made this a definite five star read for me.

Recommended for all fans of the author, and for those who enjoy romantic suspense. Review will be posted at www. They say lightning never strikes twice. But let me tell you Midnight Betra Review will be posted at www. But let me tell you Midnight Betrayal kept me guessing the whole time. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I could say so much about this book which I loved. About this story which I loved. About the characters who I loved.

Though not serialised, this follows events affecting the Sullivan family. Terrific thriller, heart-stopping suspense, just the right amount of adult romance and intimacy, hard to pick the perp. Definitely worth my time. Really good and smooth with an interested twist. Look forward to Melinda's other books. Folks, we have a winner. It is also a plus that she is a native of the Philadelphia area, as am I, so I can really relate to the setting.

Go female Philly writers! Jennifer, Lisa, and now Melinda! Don't start reading "Midnight Betrayal" late at night! From the first chapter, you are immediately hooked, and you will have a hard time putting it down. I was sure I had the murderer figured out three or four times.

The ending is a real shocker. I did not want this book to be over. Can't wait for her next one. Also, be sure and read her other books. They are all great! Jan 25, Nfloodtularosa. A lot going on , will keep your interest to the end Still good but not quite as good as the two previous books in this series.

A lot going on , will keep your interest to the end. Complex characters but I did not care for one of the main characters too needy which made it hard to for me to get into the book. My words won't do the book justice. I hadn't read the first 2 in this series and I think that is just fine. I really like her character building, you really get to know them but she doesn't drag it out either.

And good luck guessing who did it! I was confident I had it figured out twice! She's a great author and it's another great story from her.
