The Ultimate Christian Walk

I value justice, mercy, and humility. Radical obedience to Christ risks losing all these things. But in the end, such risk finds its reward in Christ. And he is more than enough for us. He is nearer than our own soul, closer than our most secret thoughts. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can. To him, death is loss. To him, death is gain. Our teachers or bosses? What about the one who molded us out of the earth itself, who formed us like clay, and instilled within us the very breath of life that shaped the universe?

You are a child of God, destined for glory, and called to do great things in His Name.

Do not waste your life on hobbies, sports, and other recreational pursuits. If your life is only Christlessness, then your death will be only more Christlessness, forever. God helps those who help themselves. Power is in the act of humility. If the cross was the end of the story, we would have no hope. The truth of this moment, if we let it sweep over us, is stunning. It means Jesus really is who he claimed to be, we are really as lost as he said we are, and he really is the only way for us to intimately and spiritually connect with God again.

It takes deliberate pursuit and attentiveness. Jesus is the oppressed, the poor.

Four Tests of a Real Believer | New Life Christian Church

To live with Jesus is to live with the poor. To live with the poor is to live with Jesus. What Jesus did was sufficient. And you will make a difference that lasts. You will not waste your life. His ministry was to those whom society considered real sinners. They had done nothing to merit salvation. Yet they opened themselves to the gift that was offered them. On the other hand, the self-righteous placed their trust in the works of the Law and closed their hearts to the message of grace. Love, being vulnerable, absorbs it.

I have passed through all these tests and can tell you I am fine. The lord will continually give me the grace to move on even through distractions that are inevitable. So what does it mean to be a true believer? Go through the four tests that Abraham did. A Major Change Hebrew God asked Abraham to make a major change in his life, pack up everything and move. God just said he was going to be moving. I can imagine Abraham had a lot of questions. It was especially difficult for Abraham for several reasons. In Genesis it tells us that Abraham, when he moved, was 75 years old.

Not only that, he was wealthy. Abraham lived in a city called Ur. Archaeologists tell us that Ur was a beautiful metropolitan city of that time. It was where all the wealth of the world was centered.

Bible Principles

It was a beautiful capital. And Abraham was a fat cat in Ur. He had it made. He had at least fifty servants. And then God asked him to move! On top of that, God had not told him where. The first test of a real believer is: We all get asked in life to move with God. Where should I work? Where should I live? Where should I retire?

Where should I try to find a job? Where should I go to school? A Delayed Promise Hebrews God wants us to base our lives on promises, not on explanations but on expectations. He wants us to base our lives on promises. Abraham lived more years and he never did receive it at that point. Notice it says he lived in tents. You talk about temporary living, how would you like to live in a tent for over years?

He had not settled down. He was constantly on the move. How long did he have to wait? Abraham had to wait three generations to get the promise fulfilled. The second test is When? When am I going to get it? When are You going to answer? When are You going to fulfill Your promise? When are You going to meet my needs?

Christian Walk

It seems to go on and on. And the lesson is: God always puts real believers through a test of waiting. How long can you wait? Test 1, a major change. Test 2, a delayed promise. Can you trust in His timing and wait for His timing without knowing When? An Impossible Problem If you are really a believer, in your lifetime God will put you up against an impossible problem.

Would you get worried? Ninety-nine years old is getting pretty old! Even worse than that, Sarah was at an age where she was not able to conceive children. It was a double impossible situation. The fact of the story is it was an impossible situation. But God had the last laugh.

So Isaac was born. And they called him laughter! That is what Isaac means. You are in the third test an impossible situation. Lord, how am I going to make ends meet this month? Lord, how am I ever going to get out of debt? Lord, how are we ever going to be able to afford a home? Lord, how can I handle all of this pressure? Lord, how can I ever find time for Bible study and ministry?

How are you ever going to bring my wife back home? How are you ever going to get through to that kid of mine? Are you really a believer? A real believer will expect a miracle without knowing how. All along the way the Lord gives occasional little conformations.
