Trusting Deception (Killing Perfection Book 2)

She stood up to Creed. I loved the strength of bond her and Garrett had. I hope she hangs onto that inner strength because she is undoubtedly going to need it for what's coming. I kind of hope that some of the guys get books of their own at some point fingers crossed. I loved Garrett Sophia's brother.

I also really liked Finley and Mera. I also want to know more about Jose especially , Kam and Ricky. This was a very slow burn type of book. However, due to the way the plot unfolded slow burn was the perfect way to go. Once Sophia and Creed hit the sheets, they burn them up.

I didn't find this book overly angsty.

A Conquering, Courageous Faith, Part 2 (Hebrews 11:32-40)

The first part was difficult to read. The level of violence aimed towards the heroine is high and could be triggering to some. If you want more details, feel free to message me. In fact, there is basically no mention of either characters sexual pasts. There is a smidge of OW drama and no OM drama. Would I recommend it? Who would enjoy this book? I think most readers would enjoy this story. Especially those who like a well crafted dark romance with intriguing characters and a well fleshed out plot.

This story was everything!! Cliffy of all cliffies! Sophia, poor Sophia, I just want to find her and hug her and never let go! What she suffers and survives. Not many people do. She breaks, but only for a moment, her body is the one that gives out. She thinks they broke her completely b Speechless.

Her heart is of a fighter. She never gave in to them. She is a survivor. Even his name gives me goosebumps. As a reader we are completely drawn to him. He was beyond swoonalicious. You may find him in my book boyfriend dungeon. Can I get more of Garrett too please???

The overprotective absent brother. Gahh he was so delicious to read about. I want more of him too please. I need anxiety meds hard! And apparently I was not so speechless but can ya blame me???? Read at your own risk. But damn what a hell of a ride it is. From the beginning, this one held me captive. Sophia has been taken against her will and we get thrown immediately into her living nightmare.

It starts out very intense and very disturbing and I may have been a tad scared. After being saved from her kidnappers, things settle down a bit but Sophia starts to realize that things are not as they seem. She realizes there is so much she doesn't understand. The charater development was so well done and I enjoyed trying to fit pieces of the puzzle together with Sophia. Who should she trust? Is she truly safe??? Then there is Diavolo Creed Sabella He is danger personified but Sophia cannot deny his magnetism.

The attraction is palpable and while Creed may be a silent, deadly threat to others, he is a fierce protector for Sophia. He tries to push Sophia away for a long time because he wants to protect her from even himself. However, their animal magnetism is not to be denied. It seems like Sophia is safe for now and she is in a good place with Creed. Her world turns upside down again. The twist was not completely unexpected but I was not prepared for everything that followed this turning point in the story.

If you're a dark romance lover and a fan of anti-heroes, just go grab this one now but be warned there is a HUGE cliffy. Book 1 of 2 Chaos series Heat Level: Moderate Cliffhanger Follow me for your next comfort read! This one came out with a bang from all corners!! I honestly had no clue how this was going to play out but I never expected the dark intensity and brutal passionate moments. But you know what they say about being comfortable in your own space?

What happens when the life you had suddenly gets taken away from you? How do you get that back? Being a fighter just became her new shield and for better or worse, this girl is not going down without a fight. Creed is an a league of his own. But Sophie has different plans for this brooding bad boy and when they find themselves in danger again, everything changes. I have to say that I really loved this one!! It was raw and brutal and yes I did cringe a few times, I loved it!! I loved the intensity, the desire, the fight and I loved this heroine.

Sophie was remarkable, and I really admired her strength and drive. I wanted to smack Creed a few times because quite frankly, he made me stabby but I grew to love him and respect what he was trying to do. Now as for the cliffhanger, fuuuuuuuuuuck!!! I don't even have the words. At first I didn't think that I would make it through the beginning of the book.

It's painfully raw and disturbingly real but I kept going because the writing is impeccable This is one hell of a story! It feeds off my pain and suffering, tarnishing my psyche, blackening my soul.

I don't want to spoil a thing! Go into this blind but prepare yourself because I went through an array of emotions from fear and suspicion to glee and confusion. There's deceit, bravery, redemption, blood, love, lust That much I know. Soto took chances, the plot was fresh and amazing and I haven't been able to get this story out of my heart.

Oct 15, Book Maniac Forever rated it it was amazing Shelves: Soto reached out to me for reviewing Deception and Chaos , I was really intrigued and interested by the premise of the novel, but nothing could have prepared me for the level of love I had for this exhilarating story!

These moments are emotional and gripping, but the appearance of Creed in her dark world is so brilliant! That man is just the perfect anti-hero! Peeling his multiple layers was pure delight! I swooned so hard over him. I can now count Creed as one of my absolute favorite hero!!! As much as I loved him, Sophia is also a remarkable heroine! I enjoyed immensely her interactions with him where she shows a sassy and determined side! She sees more than the ruthless man in him and goes for it. If I wasn't careful, the beautiful dangerous devil could destroy me. What a fantastic book, I loved it!!!

I have to say that my most favorite thing about this author is her creativity and her talent to throw the reader for a loop. You never know what you are going to get when you open an Aleatha Romig novel. I loved learning more about the secondary characters in this story. In the beginning, I had nothing but hate for both Charli's mother and Nox's father.

But in this part of the story, we discover the truth behind some of the secrets and I hate to say it but, sometimes, villains can also be victims. I think each person who reads this will have a different opinion in whether to understand or condemn the actions of these characters. Not to say that I have suddenly forgiven them for their cruelty, but I guess I can understand them better and that certainly added depth to this already intriguing series. In this story, every character is so complex and there are so many layers to the Deception that it's very hard to decipher what is going to happen next or even who to trust.

Both families are so deep in the lies, that I honestly can't see how we'll get to a conclusion without our hearts getting broken in the process. I'll leave it to the author to continue to deliver more thrilling entertainment. Finally, I want to talk about the Everest size cliffhanger, a total jaw dropper, but I'm not going to lie, it actually makes me want to go back and re-read all these books again, in search of more clues.

I love the mystery and the sensuality of these novels. A total winner for me, just what the doctor ordered. View all 25 comments. Deception is book 3 in the Infidelity Series. Betrayal and Cunning were the cocktails and appetizers, Deception is part of the main course.

We are given more of the background of Nox and Charli and how their lives are somewhat connected. The way the author sprinkles the past throughout the story helps to brings the story full circle. There are still so many who, what, hows and whys Deception starts right where Cunning stopped. It was an OMG moment so I was thrilled to be able to jump right in.

This book is where Nox and Charli really begin to open up to one another. They both have shadows in their past that cloud over them. They believe and trust in one another and with that the walls that they have begin to come down. I loved seeing their relationship grow in this book. Oren's, Nox's father, past is revealed more in this book. The uncanny connection to the Montague Family and to Adelaide is brought to light. The story's revelations of the past and the present is becoming a wild and bumpy ride in true Aleatha fashion.

There is also a discovery that Adelaide finds that can forever change things for her and Alexandria except maybe someone has found out her discovery. As I have said, there are so many moving parts to the story- more hows, when, where and whys!!! Of course the ending I'm a little mixed about it as it was an Aleatha'd moment for sure!!! But one thing about this incredible author is that she is more than willing to listen to your worries. No matter your feelings, Aleatha Romig hears you out and talks you out of your strife.

The web that the author is spinning is highly addictive and divinely wicked. I need the next book now!!!!!!! Deception and Chaos

To be cl Unpopular opinion time This book fed me up, it took me almost 3 weeks to read a pages book. All the chemistry between Nox and Charli is gone, their dialogues are empty and very robotic, like they say what they are supposed to say but don't really put their heart in the conversation anymore. And the storyline was soooo predictable. Alexandria acts like a complete idiot which is very OOC compared with how she used to be in Betrayal. Lennox is creepier than ever: I don't want to think about this book anymore, I don't want to waste more of my time because of it, so I'll stop this review full of disappointment here and I'll do my best to move on.

In true Aleatha fashion, every detail and raw emotions are perfectly told and orchestrated in providing a glimpse of the facets and motives for the secondary characters and as well as for Charli and Nox. Nothing is black and white. And so forth, Aleatha allowed readers like myself to read between the lines and given a big taste of what is to come. And of course, lots of secrets and lies are just waiting to be exposed.

Curious as to what those secrets are and what is the big cliffhanger, well I guess the only way for you to find out is to read Deception. Trust me, you will need to hold on tight because that ending has me on edge and begging for more. Review can also be found on Four Chicks Flipping Pages: Deception starts exactly where Cunning was stopped. Then I wanted to shake her and ask her what the hell she thought she was doing. Thanks to my friend Mindy for doing this BR with me. Many of you will be too young to remember, but this book in fact this whole series to date is like watching a cliff hanger episode of 80's prime time American soap opera "Dallas.

The lifestyles of the rich and famous, the plots, the twists, the good guys, the bad guys, the good guys turning bad, the ba Review: The lifestyles of the rich and famous, the plots, the twists, the good guys, the bad guys, the good guys turning bad, the bad guys turning good, the incestuousness of it all Aleatha Romig's "Deception" is on parr with all of that.

Actually, scratch that, this book is way ahead. It's in a league of it's own. There are still so many questions. There are still so many parts of the puzzle missing and I'm desperate for everything to fit, to get the complete picture. Secrets weren't secrets unless they were hidden away. The minute I turned the first page of "Deception," I knew I was about to peel back a few more layers of a story that had turned into something so much bigger than just a journey of love.

This was a story about two families. It was a story about legacy and loyalty, wealth and duty and and if you're looking for shock value, this book is bursting at the seems with it. The sinister, underhanded activities, the lengths people would go to, to protect what they felt was rightfully theirs or what they felt they deserved.

Each time I thought I had started to make some head way with the plot, each time I thought I had managed to untangle a few knots in that ever growing web of lies, deceit and double crossings, this author would throw something in that would make me stop dead in my reading tracks and do a double take. Did I just read that right??? However, other times it was a comment from a character or a simple word and I know that had I not been giving this story my undivided attention, I may have missed it. So word of warning The plot continues to thicken in this latest instalment of the "Infidelity" Series and you really don't want to miss a thing.

Those things that we shared openly, that we talked, laughed and even cried about, couldn't hurt us because they were out there for the world to see. It was the things that were hidden, that we didn't share, that lurked in the shadows- those held the power to hurt, harm and even destroy. The various characters really knew how to test and challenge my thought processes. My views on how I felt about certain individuals continued to morph and change, some for the better, others most definitely for the worse but I think it was the addition of chapters told from the past and present from various POV's that really did help to tip the scales for me.

Those chapters were eye openers, helping provide rhyme and reason for actions and behaviours and really highlighting the fact that all was most definitely not as it seemed. My affections for the main characters continued to grow but it was Nox's behaviour that left me with an uncomfortable feeling. He had promised never to lie to Alex which he didn't but was not telling her the whole truth or withholding information not just as bad?

This was going to come back and bite him if not in this book, then the next and it was not going to be pretty. When would he learn!!! She filled me with a promise of something that I'd forgotten existed- a promise of more, of love, laughter and life. Yup, you got it, another doozer of a cliffy peeps. Would we expect anything less? This third instalment in the "Infidelity" series gets 4. Can I even tell you anything about this book?

Hell no, not unless I want to give stuff away. I didn't want to rush it. I wanted to savor it. I would devour it whole, and I would look up and it would be over and I would be sad. My plan was to take it slow, but after staring at the cover and re-reading bits and pieces of Chasin I wanted to approach this book like it was a high-priced antique. My plan was to take it slow, but after staring at the cover and re-reading bits and pieces of Chasing The Dragon, Book 1 in the series, where it all began, I shot my plan all to HELL! There was no going back, and suddenly I didn't care anymore.

Leigh has THAT much power of me. She is just too DAMN good at what she does! Leigh once again, works her magic in the last installment of the Deception Duet series. She knows how to reel readers in from the get-go. With unforgettable characters and a suspenseful, sexy, and adventurous storyline, you will be hooked until the very last word is read. From the very beginning, there has been twists around every corner.

I know you have questions. I had A LOT! If you are looking for something sexy, edgy, captivating, and emotionally gripping, the Deception Duet by T. Leigh is definitely for you! It is a MUST READ in my book, and it will always have a special spot on my bookshelf where I can look at it from afar and pick it up whenever the mood strikes, which will probably be quite a bit. The Burnham boys are hard, determined, controlled and intense lovers. Tyler is much like Alex in this. Leigh takes us through the highs and lows, the twists and turns, and the ups and downs of figuring out whodunit and how the pieces of the puzzle fit together.

It was love, of that I am certain. It was for me anyway. This was an epic, wild, messy love affair! Oh, how I wanted to throttle you both at times while reading this book! I am not going into a summary at all with this review because if I do, we will be here all day. And what you see in that light, is not at all what you expected. There is also a love story behind all the mystery. And in that love story is a message of forgiveness. One that sometimes we all need to remember.

I have read every single book published by this author and have seen how the writing style has grown and progressed. I do have to say, though, that it was a little hard to follow at some points, and the characters at least to me seemed a bit immature.

Slaying the Dragon is the second book and the conclusion to the Deception Duet. Let me tell you this was rightly named the Deception Duet because this book keeps you glued to the pages wondering just who is deceiving who. From page-one my heart began to race and my blood pressure was rising with all that begins to unfold for Mackenzie and Tyler. Slaying the Dragon is filled with so much emotion and tension, both sexual and otherwise.

What's great about this duet is that not only do you feel Tyle Slaying the Dragon is the second book and the conclusion to the Deception Duet. What's great about this duet is that not only do you feel Tyler and McKenzie but you feel the secondary characters as well. All your questions will be answered and you will definitely be surprised at some of the answers. I could not put this book down and was sad to see it end. This is a definite five star must read!!! If you have read T.

An amazing story of second chances and finding out the truth in a twisted past that can end only one way Maybe fairytales do still exists. The truth is, despite it all, I still love you. And I always will. While the assignment was only to be for a month, security took longer to ensure so the time was longer than planned. During the time away on the assignment, Tyler could not stop thinking about Mackenzie on their feelings for each other. You are it for me. It can be calm and refreshing, a way to finally close one chapter of your life. Or it can be as unforgiving as a hurricane. It can bring our world into the abyss of darkness and turmoil.

The prince knew he had to protect this woman from the monstrous beast who was trying to tear them apart, so he set upon a quest to slay the dragon and free his love. You'd think after reading every book TK Leigh has to offer that it would get easier to review them, but nope! This author has once again left me without words to describe just how amazing and heartfelt her words made me feel.

Slaying the Dragon was definitely an epic conclusion to the Deception Duet, and filled with suspense and mystery that takes you on a never ending rollercoaster of emotions. It was skillfully written with a beautiful storyline that make Mackenzie and Tyler into more than jus You'd think after reading every book TK Leigh has to offer that it would get easier to review them, but nope! It was skillfully written with a beautiful storyline that make Mackenzie and Tyler into more than just characters in a book. TK Leigh brought them to life and gave them real life feelings, struggles, and strengths.

You can't help but to fall in love with them and hope they get the happy ever after that they deserve. Slaying the Dragon has everything you want to find in a book This book, like all of TK Leigh's work, will keep you captivated and stay with you long after you actually finish the book. You will go through every single emotion that the characters do, and you might even need a few tissues to bring along for the ride.

This sequel and conclusion to Tyler and Mackenzie's story, begins where we left off in Chasing the Dragon, with the reveal of Tyler's deception. That was one heck of a cliffhanger in my opinion, although slightly predictable. They are staying apart from each other for awhile and they are both struggling with it. Tyler knows he screwed up possibly the best thing that has ever happened to him and all he wants to do is make it right.

Mackenzie struggles with the fact that everything about their relationship could possibly be a lie and she doesn't know what is truth anymore, but at the same time, she still loves Tyler and probably always will. When their struggles become too much, Mackenzie must decide if she wants to forgive and learn to trust Tyler again.

The investigation on Mackenzie's father keeps on getting more and more complicated and new revelations may force them to fight everything they've got. I can't really say anymore without giving spoilers, but just be prepared for one hell of a rollercoaster filled with suspense, mystery, surprises, and of course, heart wrenching love. I just have to say Tyler definitely redeemed himself in this wild sequel, and I think I love him more than his overbearing brother Alex Burnham. Alex definitely made me hate him just a little bit in Tyler's and Mackenzie's eyes.

I really hope he gets himself redeemed in Vanished, releasing in On that note, I definitely recommend this book and everything TK Leigh has to offer. She is the most amazingly talented author I've read and had the pleasure of meeting. I couldn't wait till this book to come out so that I could find out what really happened.

But dang I wasn't expecting what I got. When you read this you are trying to figure out what really is happening and who is really is the whole time. Who is willing to kill to keep a secret that people are trying to bring to light. Who is willing to go to such great lengths to really uncover the past to keep it in the dark. This is one of the thrilling stories I have read and I couldn't get enough of it. Go take the ride and try to solve this mystery while falling in love with this couple coming to terms of a past that neither of them ever saw coming to the future.

Lots and lots more drama in this book.

I had to know what happened so I immediately became so engrossed in it and obsessed with reading. I literally read every second I could. If I was cooking dinner then my kindle was right beside the stove with me hunched over the counter. Thankfully, dinner didn't burn. So big thumbs up to the dinner gods there.

Between her life leading up to this point and finding out about Tyler the way she did, she's a strong girl for even continuing on. Thank goodness for her best friends, Brayden and Jenna. Sometimes that's all you need: I felt like in Slaying the Dragon, the drama and action was just everywhere. I actually would have liked to of had more of the end part of the story, seeing how Mackenzie was once things calmed down and she was really able to settle down and enjoy life a bit. Leigh did a fantastic job creating a story that you can truly get lost in, one that has you on the edge of your seat trying to figure everything out and who is behind it all.

You never really know who is telling the truth. It all just went to show that when things seem too good to be true, they usually are, and that how true the saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" really is. I have anxiously been waiting for this book to release, dying to find out what Mackenzie is going to do with the knowledge that Tyler has deceived her. Will she run and never come back or will Tyler find a way to explain why he kept so much from her? You have to read book 1, Chasing the Dragon before attempting to read this one or you'll be completely lost.

So many questions from book 1, and even more in book 2 are answered and I had to constantly remind myself to slow down, not rush through the book to find out what happens. If you do that, you will definitely miss out on the true love story that develops between Tyler and Mackenzie.

It is a beautiful love too, and the emotion between them is pure and soulful. Is it a strong enough love to survive the lies and deceptions that have occurred? And let's not forget the danger that Tyler is trying to protect Mackenzie from, all the while not knowing where it is coming from, who is behind it. I can't wait for everyone to read the conclusion to Mackenzie and Tyler's story. I hate to say this, but Tyler has most definitely become my most favorite Burnham brother! I was privileged to receive an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Firstly, it is essential that you read Chasing the Dragon first to appreciate this book. Slaying the Dragon is a great conclusion to the Deception Duet series, the author brings us a brilliantly crafted suspense filled espionage style read that pulls on every emotion with an angst filled yet hot love story at it's core. I have to say that for me the author has outdone herself with this series, I have been a fan from the off of her writing style and ability to build on the angst and to and fro ty Firstly, it is essential that you read Chasing the Dragon first to appreciate this book.

I have to say that for me the author has outdone herself with this series, I have been a fan from the off of her writing style and ability to build on the angst and to and fro type of story and this series is all that and much more. I was heartbroken at the end of the last book for Mackenzie and I was more than angry at the Burnham men for their treatment of her and I was really looking for some redemption in this book.

So I was sad to find Mackenzie still left reeling from the fall out of her brief fling with Tyler and though he did redeem himself somewhat with his regret, the anger I felt all came flooding back for her as things progressed initially and Mackenzie once again put her shutters up. Though I loved the way that the angst between the two built up and that Mackenzie was strong enough to face up to the reality of their situation and wasn't an instant pushover in forgiving Tyler.

I loved the way the story played out and I think it was brilliantly executed, we are kept on the edge of our seats as the secrets are slowly uncovered and we're kept guessing until the end as to who was responsible. In the midst of the chaos of the truth and lies surrounding Mackenzie's father, she and Tyler are struggling to try and move past the broken trust of how they came to be but as they are pulled into the path of danger they are forced to face up to their feelings.

I just loved Tyler and Mackenzie's story and yes he did manage to redeem himself fully, eventually. A brilliant series and I really cannot wait to see what comes next from T. Slaying the Dragon is the final book in the Deception Duet by T. Leigh where every question the reader had after the cliff hanger ending of Chasing the Dragon. Tyler Burnham and Mackenzie Delano left the reader questioning the fate of their relationship due to the never ending sea of lies and deceptions that they fed each other since their clandestine meeting.

Will they make it work or is their relationship doomed? Will Tyler actually let Mackenzie go like she asked? When Tyler walks away as Mackenzie asked him to, his heart breaks because it is the last thing that he ever wanted to do. With his brother Alex, sending him to the other side of the world, Mackenzie is never far from his mind, and although he desperately wants to come home and try to make it right, Alex insists that it is too dangerous.

Tyler resorts to keep a journal of his thoughts, hoping that one day Mackenzie will read it and know how much he loved her and still loves her despite everything that has happened between them. Mackenzie finally realizes that she made a mistake in sending Tyler away, and decides to go to him, only to discover that he has apparently vanished into thin air. When she receives news that she never expected, she tries to move on with her life, forgetting about Tyler and what they shared, only to find herself thinking of him every moment.

Rebuilding the walls around her heart that Tyler had torn down in such a short period of time, she doesn't expect to see him again. Will Tyler return to Mackenzie? Will he fight for her? Will they finally discover the truth surrounding Mackenzie's identity after all these years? You will have to read to find out!

Leigh is anything but predictable when it comes to her books'. There's so much suspense, mystery, heat and palpable energy that radiates of the pages', I couldn't put it down even if I wanted to. It kept me on the edge of my seat and my brain in a constant whirl wind. What made it even better, Tyler. His character truly developed and shined in this book. I can't forget about Mackenzie, the way she handled every curve ball thrown her way, really showed her strength, courage, love and big heart. The amount of detail involved in each chapter is brilliant, intricate and kept me on my toes the entire time.

All of my favorite characters' are involved in this story one way or another and I fell in love with one particular person and it wasn't Tyler but Momma B - her wise words and warm ways just make you wish she was your mom. There were parts I wanted to scream because just when I thought I had everything figured out, the rug was pulled out from underneath me.

Every bit of anxiety, breath-holding and talking to myself, was worth it!!

    Books by Lindsy O'Brien

I was definitely strung out after I finished this book, in a good way of course. Leigh did not disappoint me with Slaying The Dragon. I was so excited to finally have my hands on something that could answer my questions that left me hanging from Chasing The Dragon. Starting from the beginning I was emotional, Tyler and Mackenzie's relationship was questionable and needed a miracle. Without spoiling anything their love will drive you crazy, make you cry, and at times frustrate the hell out of you, but it's so worth it.

I did not fall in love with Tyler Burnham in Chasing the Dragon, in this story his character is different he seemed stronger, weaker when he needed to be and very determined. I have to say he gives his brother Alexander tough competition, I am loving the Burnham brothers. Mackenzie still drove me crazy, but I love her strong character. Mackenzie faces her challenges with strength and determination. The love and passion that Tyler and Mackenzie have is so strong and steamy, I could feel it off the pages. Slaying The Dragon is suspenseful and at times will have you on the edge of your seat it will also keep you satisfied in the romance department.

I am such a big T. Leigh fan, my only disappointment is What do I do now? How am I going to get my Tyler and Mackenzie fix?
