If you're looking for some practical, vanilla advice, this is good and there's a place for a book like this. One thing that is different about this book is acknowledgement that for men, dating tends to be more focused on the sexual aspects and where the book tends to deviate from the straight woman advice book is on that. Not that her woman targeted one lacks sex advice, but this one focuses more on the simple fact that if your main motivation for dating is sex then don't be surprised when you don't have that long term girlfriend.

She does provide a nod in here to the "Pick Up Artist" culture but focuses on the more negative aspects of being manipulative or sex focused. Her criticisms aren't wrong, but what she's leaving out is a whole mess of stuff that touches on the same aspects she does, such as confidence, but goes much much deeper. I don't fault her for this, she's just likely more acquainted with the more crude manifestations. The part that this book lacks that aforementioned material does not is the nuts and bolts of attraction.
